Clinton and Obama need to show some leadership today regarding the FISA bill
I stole this list from a post in GD. I see several on here who have endorsed Clinton or Obama. They need to show us their leadership skills and get these other senators on board-NOW!

****************

These Democratic Senators voted last week with Republicans to table the version of the FISA bill that excluded telcom amnesty. One of them, Sen. Rockefeller, has already said he'll vote no on cloture on this bill. That means we need to convince three other Democrats on this list to vote against cloture:

* Bayh (202) 224-5623
FAX: (202) 228-1377
* Carper (202) 224-2441
FAX: (202) 228-2190
* Inouye (202) 224-3934
FAX: (202) 224-6747
* Johnson (202) 224-5842
FAX: 202-228-5765
* Landrieu (202)224-5824
FAX: (202) 224-9735
* McCaskill (202) 224-6154
FAX: (202) 228-6326
* Mikulski (202) 224-4654
FAX: (202) 224-8858
* Nelson (FL) (202) 224-5274
FAX: (202) 228-2183
* Nelson (NE) (202) 224-6551
FAX: (202) 228-0012
* Pryor (202) 224-2353
FAX: (202) 228-0908
* Salazar (202) 224-5852
FAX: (202) 228-5036

1. crickets - just as I thought
it's all about endorsements today and not about really getting things done.

I know I'm supporting the right candidate.

4. that's not the point. We still need 8 more senators to vote no on cloture
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 03:37 PM by Beaverhausen
and I see at least one of her endorsers on this list - Bayh. I also see at least one Obama endorser (McCaskill) on the list.
If Clinton and Obama want to prove they can lead and get things done, this is a great test, don't you think?

Obviously, Edwards can't vote.

13. He didn't mention how she was going to vote,
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 04:00 PM by TheDebbieDee
He just said he'd give her my message.

I'll call back and check. I like Claire but a couple of her votes have been questionable.

She voted to extend some boneheaded law last summer so Congress could go on recess.

ETA: I called back to get more info and the young man stated that she had not announced how she was going to vote or which way she was leaning.
