John McCain favors amnesty for illegal immigrants
This message has been brought to you by the Coalition to Shatter Republican Unity in November.

Um, thank you.

1. Yes, that is one of the reasons they hate him. For now.
Once he gets the nomination they will fall in line as usual. Remember, they didn't care much at all for the Chimp until he got the nod. Lock step walking is something the Republicans do well.

9. Are you sure?
"Lock step walking is something the Republicans do well."

Both parties' supporters do it. The Democrats are expected to do it if Clinton manages to get the nomination based on her current methods and superdelegate control, as well.

I think you underestimate how much McCain is disliked in the online GOP community, though. Based on his past behavior and legislation, he could just as easily be a democrat in their eyes. The only thing that will energize the GOP base for him is the CLintons running against him. If Obama is nominated, I bet you will see considerable apathy among conservatives.

3. "Well, to his credit, he doesn't hate immigrants"
"He proposed a program to legalize the 12 million undocumented workers in the U.S. He sincerely opposes torture, as a survivor of it himself. He has apologized for denying global warming and now advocates a cap on greenhouse gas emissions but only if China and India can also be locked into the system. He is somewhat uncomfortable with the religious right (while supporting a ban on abortion and gay marriage)."

5. That works for us
Removes that issue from debate in the general election

If Romney makes it then we will need to fight that battle for months

6. That's going to be a tough sell
We all know how Republicans need a "hate" issue to rally the lynch mobs.
