Clinton to Campaign in Florida - AFTER the Primary
http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,,-7260346,00.html

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday she will go to Florida to assure Democrats that ``their voices are heard'' and to underscore her commitment to seeing the state's delegation seated at the national convention.

Though the Democratic presidential candidates largely have heeded the national party's request that they not campaign publicly in Florida, Clinton said it's time to pay attention to voters there who are showing heavy interest in Tuesday's primary. Early voting is under way and drawing strong interest, she said.

``Hundreds of thousands of people have already voted in Florida and I want them to know I will be there to be part of what they have tried to do to make sure their voices are heard,'' Clinton said. She will visit Florida after the polls close to thank supporters, her campaign said.

She's going to Florida AFTER the polls close in their primary. That's not a violation of ANY rule.

To correct the situation.

Obama is not manipulating the voting situation in Michigan and Florida. They all went to Florida to fundraise in the past. Hillary is campaigning NOW.

27. The Truth Shall Set You Free
Mrs. Clinton is scheduled to fly here on Sunday for two fund-raisers. Although the events are not open to the press or public — her aides said she would attend no public event that would result in her breaking her word with the DNC — her arrival here the day after the South Carolina vote seems likely to produce coverage on Florida television stations and newspapers on the day before the vote. On Friday, her campaign issued a statement saying that she would urge her delegates at the Democratic convention this summer to seat the Florida delegation.

She's got no events open to the public or the press. She's not advertising anything there.

She's fundraising, just as Obama did in person in November.

The pledge allows fundraisers. You're just mistaken. Or being deliberately dishonest.

37. This Florida game of tag would be funny
if the Hillary's opponents weren't so obviously intent on distorting facts to score points. They have another thread up screaming about Hillary arriving in Florida that leaves out the fact that she has a fund raiser scheduled there tonight. Obama has attended fund raisers in Florida also. Fund raising is allowed under the pledges they signed.

47. I reallly am getting angry tonight at the intellectual dishonesty being displayed
Showing up some place after the polls are closed is not campaigning. Attending a previously scheduled fund raiser in Florida is not showing up to "campaign". There is a mutually agreed upon definition of what is and is not campaigning. Fund raising activities are not campainging.

Not to mention the double standards. If Obama goes to Florida to attend a fund raiser, and he has, that isn't a problem nor does anyone feel a need to start threads about it. When Clinton does it suddenly that's dishonest, suddenly that's cheating.

Obama is the ONLY candidate doing anything inside of Florida that can reasonably be called campaigning. The rest of the fuss going on at DU tonight is cover to deflect from that.

49. Has anyone told explained the rules regarding that to you yet?
All of the candidates have come and gone to Florida pre-rimary. For fundraisers. Fundraisers ARE ALLOWED. They are officially defined as non campaigning activity. Hillary has a fund raiser in Florida tonight. Obama had one in the same area not that long ago for example.
