This week in Perspective for Edwards - Came back from below viabiliby in SC after 4% in NV
Edited on Sat Jan-26-08 11:31 PM by jsamuel
Nationally, according to Rasmussen, Edwards went up from 13% to 18% nationally as well. Edwards made some huge gains this week. He won the white vote in SC over Clinton and Obama. I would love the black vote to support Edwards, but it appears that those who would support Edwards go to Obama. The other states do not have this degree of black population. Edwards came from down below viability in SC before the debates to and came out with 8 delegates to Clinton's 12. While I would have preferred a second place finish, it was not possible with Edwards getting 1% of the black vote in a state with 50% black democrats. Onward!

2. In other words... a solid, dependable third everywhere.
How does he get the nomination without winning any states???? That's the perspective we should develop.

5. The point is that he is doing better in the national polls than he has done previously while still
placing 3rd. That means that he is gaining momentum even after having not won a state. There is more to his movement than meets the eye.

6. yes!! it's important to keep a perspective...
of the whole picture. only 4 states have voted thus far. the state that just voted is a red state in the south. from what i remember, jesse jackson won there twice. remember him? president jackson... oh. wait. sorry, i got confused. ANYWAY, it ain't over 'til it's over and john edwards is slowly, slowly building a strong, fighting base.

He won this state in 2004.

What kind of momentum is that?

12. I think Edwards should stay in the race and you should renounce your citizenship.

13. No black candidate in 2004.
Big difference. I'm sorry, but race IS an issue, whether we want it to be or not.
