Lets get some facts out there on Obama's purchase of land from Rezko...
that bordered the property he bought BEFORE Rezko bought the adjacent vacant lot. Rezko offered the land to Obama at a discount, but Obama insisted on paying 1/6th of what Rezko paid because he was purchasing 1/6th of the property.

What did Obama do wrong?

5. He overpayed Rezko's asking price, paying exactly what Rezko payed for the land...
which was the original asking price. What are you talking about?

7. one explanation is that PERHAPS Obama wanted to avoid even the APPEARANCE of accepting a bribe ...
in the form of a discount. These issues can be very touchy, (and I am no expert in them), but here, it would seem that the appearance of impropriety would be if Rezco even APPEARED to be funneling money in the form of extra land value to Obama, NOT if Obama was paying more for the land than Rezco's "asking" price.

On the other hand, if I am missing something here, plz explain.

6. I didn't realize there were real estate appraisers on this thread.
Sometimes people pay more money for abutting property just because it is abutting property. Of all the Obama "scandals," this one is the stupidest.

8. The issue is..
The appearance of impropriety that comes from Rizko buying the lot at an inflated price so, some might think, that Obama could buy the home at a steep discount. Then selling obama 1 sixth of the lot, though the lot remains vacant, and if you look at it appears to be Obamas lawn, it stinks of a ,to be nice, I will call it a "favor" Rumor has it, that the "vacant lot" is now unbuildable due to the partial sale to Obama. It looks bad, it smells bad.

10. Here is what will take Obama down eventually

Obama says there was nothing improper in these transactions. The housing deal however came after it was KNOWN that Rezko was under scrutiny by federal authorities.

Don't you find that disturbing? So all off Chicago knew the guy was under federal investigation and yet Obama still did deals with him
