Obama's troubling relationship with Rezko

The Democratic presidential hopeful has also been forced to explain how Rezko got tangled in the purchase of the Obama family home and other ties to Rezko—some of them going back more than 15 years. If federal prosecutors are right, his ties to Rezko may even mean Obama's campaign unwittingly accepted money generated by illegal activities.

Whether the matter will fade in the heat of a national campaign or turn into a headache for Obama in the months ahead is anybody's guess.

State Sen. Christine Radogno, a Republican, said voters are guaranteed to hear more about Rezko if Obama continues to make headway on the campaign trail.

"Obviously, the better he does, the more scrutiny he receives," Radogno said. "So I think there is going to be some discussion of that."

3. I wonder if this is the story that LA Times has been sitting on in order to use against him in the
General?

Maybe the LA Times has additional information on the scam.

6. I feel troubled when I read that in the 13 years that this relationship
existed Obama never made the hard choices of looking behind the scenes to make sure that these slum buildings were being repaired by this contractor. I might be wrong with the understanding of this information, but if I'm reading, correctly, the information that is coming out. He spent 13 years making business dealing with this contractor, that left the poor disenfranchised, and in substandard housing.

9. Does it matter? Obama was not involved, nor was he aware a contributer was.

If Obama is the nominee, though, you can bet we will hear a lot about this in the fall.

12. If so we need to inoculate Obama from it now, not wait until he gets damaged by it in October
