Poll question: How much will Obama beat Clinton in SC by?
Edited on Tue Jan-22-08 02:17 AM by Lirwin2
I've pretty much made peace with the idea that Obama will win SC, I think that at this point it's a question of how much he will win by. I'm gonna say around 8%.

1. I won't even hazard a guess until I see a poll or two taken post-Regan comment

It could have hurt him a lot in SC

4. I think that losing by less than 5% is a good thing for Clinton
Edited on Tue Jan-22-08 02:49 AM by Lirwin2
Losing 5-10% is expected. Losing 10%+ would be bad.

6. No, honey. It's Obama who needs a BIG win here.
Clinton isn't supposed to score at all. Are you THAT nervous that you're already working spin for a loss? Whoa! That actually shocks me.

7. I agree that Obama NEEDS a win in SC, but I believe that he will get his win
If he doesn't, then 1 year from now President Clinton will be in the White House.

3. After the debate...I think the dynamics will be different...

I think Edwards had a magnificent performance.

I wouldn't be surprised if he picks up a bigger piece of the pie.

The question is...from which candidate does he peel away support?

Hillary had a bad night. She did have some good things to say, but
generally she came off really brash and ham handed. She probably
lost some support. Obama had a strong performance and won't lose any points
with this debate...if anything, he'll gain.

I think it's possible that Edwards may come in second.

You heard it here first.

5. Don't forget that Clinton has stopped campaigning there
She's moved on to the feb 5'th states, so at this point I think it will be between Edwards and Obama.

8. I agree, Edwards is still in this thing
I think Obama wins SC by 5-10%.
The real surprise will be a Edwards "surge".

There is no way Edwards is only getting 4% like in Nevada. That was a funky result due to caucus rules. He should be around 20% base and I expect him to get a bump from the debate snippets they will play on tv. So I'm going to say:
Obama 41%
Clinton 34%
Edwards 25

And I'm not an Edwards guy. Just givin props to Edwards for a good performance.
