The "first" black or female president would probably move the US ahead in "progressive" ways more than any single policy issue so why are people implying that it was "racist" for Bill Clinton to say that blacks might vote for Obama for "obvious reasons"?

It IS obvious and if you act like there's something wrong with doing it for that reason especially when all three of these candidates are basically the same you're full of shit.

1. why do you think people are voting on the candidate
that they "like" because they cant really choose on anything else, positions, votes, policies are mostly all simlier.

3. well if they WERE all "basically the same" flipping a coin would be fine
but since they are far from it, well, your premise is flawed (aka full of shit)

5. this shows how little you know about the candidates
You are trying to rationalize your bias by saying they are all alike.

They aren't. That is why the American people have a major choice to make.

6. I've made that argument re: Hillary and gay rights
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 03:44 PM by VarnettaTuckpocket
I've known I was gay for 30 yrs, I know that women are more trustworthy on gay issues. Polls show they're more gay-friendly as well. Anyone who isn't gay, better check themselves before they tell me it's ridiculous for me to trust Hillary more because she's a woman. You haven't lived it and you don't know jack-shit about it.

9. The comment is operating on the OP's premise, all candidates similar on the issues
Which they are, there's no real difference in the front-runners' stands on gay rights. Edwards is actually my preferred candidate, but he's probably out of it. I'm simply saying I think Hillary's more trustworthy, as a woman, on gay rights, than Obama. Of course McClurkin also factors into that.

8. Yeah like it is so obvious the first "female speaker" did wonders.
Race and gender are meaningless. It is what is inside that counts and the op is insulting to everyone of any sex or gender.
