Thompson contemplates dropping out of race
Republican Fred Thompson is apparently weighing the future of his bid after a disappointing third-place finish in South Carolina Saturday.

Thompson had hoped to perform strongly in Iowa, where he tied for third, and South Carolina.

The former Tennessee senator and "Law & Order" actor returned home after delivering a speech in South Carolina on Saturday that sounded like he was calling it quits. He stopped short of doing so but some supporters suspected it would only be a matter of time before Thompson withdraws.

8. 'If someone doesn't stop this, people are gonna get killed."
and figuratively, he, Hunter, and Gouliani are the ones getting killed in these priimaries already, he needs to come out and say it. Just like he said it in "Hunt for Red October." It's quit'in time! Quitin time!

The martini shot is up next Fred, get in there and get it done.

14. Let's hope he's practiced his acting chops
enough to convince that wife of his that he's truly regretful.

Otherwise, he's gonna be poor, she's gonna be rich, and she's gonna be on the prowl to find another actor to turn into Reagan.

15. For Sale: Red Pickup Truck
Used by barely competent actor and political has-been.

Like owner, truck will not get out of first gear.

Will trade for Metamusil.

Contact F. Thompson.

20. Why anyone would get this far and not stick it out until Super Tuesday is beyond me.
Either read the tea leaves early and bail or fight it out until Super Tuesday. It's only a few days away anyway, how could it hurt?
