I just came on here to check out the board this morning. I usually just browse as I have little time to really post much since I have two daughters ages 2 and 3. I have been on this board since 2004 but reading the posts this morning just makes me sick. What are we doing people? Have we forgotten that George W. Bush and his Rethug cronies are responsible for so much damage to this country? I voted for Al Gore in 2000 because I knew Bush would take this country down a path of hell and unfortunately, I was right. I voted for Al Gore despite those saying Ralph Nader was more "pure" and this and that. Despite the fact that there was supposedly "no difference" between Gore and Bush. Ha. We can what difference there was, it was night and day. Repuplicans do not have the interests of the people in mind and have spent more that any Democratic president and administration could ever dream of. Katrina, Iraq, torture, lies, maipulation, big oil. What have'nt they done or pushed or supported against our will? And here, in 2008, we have a chance to take the country back in the right direction. I do not really like Hillary Clinton as a person or a candidate but I will vote for her over the Republicans simply because George Bush has nearly ruined this country and any republican would still be in the Bushies grasp. Obama to me is a candidate for change but he is a little inexperienced and has made some mistakes (Renko, etc.) But who REALLY CARES?!?!?!?!??!?!? Lets stop putting each other down, lets debate the REAL ISSUES (war, healthcare, immigration, govt. waste) and stop debating non issues like who slept with who 9 years ago or what ex-gay pastor gave a speech for what candidate. Look, people are human. Polticians are not perfect. They are pandering and looking for money to help get elected. They are tied to those who help them get there and it is not me and you. Why do you thing Al Gore is a reformed politican? Who would want to do this for a living? Still, we have a chance to punish the Republicans after all their years of rule over congress and the presidency and help save this country. We need a bigger majority in congress to get things done. We need a Democrat in the whitehouse to help make some changes and get us out of Iraq. So stop fighting and get down to business. Support your candidate (mine is Obama) and if they lose, suck it up and fight against the Republicans. We cannot afford to implode on ourselves and hand them the presidency once again. I was so disgusted in 2004 that I changed my affiliation to the Democraic party after being an independent sice 1994 when I was just 18. Im 32 now and I will be damned if I'm gonna let the chance to change things in this country go by.
