Obama derangement syndrome
http://www.taylormarsh.com/

"Obama is not speaking in progressive terms, but instead is channeling Reagan coalition talking points. The reason he's not speaking in progressive terms is because he's not an ideologue and doesn't care about Democratic party ideals. What's so tough about that to understand? But he's earned our vote anyway, according to some people. Obama's courting of everyone but actual Democrats has led to an equally stubbom vein inside the Democratic party: Obama Derangement Syndrome. Because Obama seems intent on running against Democrats in order to seduce Republicans and independents".
snip
"As for voting for Obama even though he's the least progressive, it's got the possibility of cracking this party in two at a time when we have a real chance at winning the White House. But Obama Derangement Syndrome has been born, with a foundation that's deep and hard. From "present" votes, to ducking Kyl-Lieberman, to making a speech against Iraq with no action since, and on and on, topped with Obama throwing Bill Clinton (the only two term Democratic president since F.D.R.) under a bus to prop up Ronald Reagan, it's clear his allegiance isn't to the Democratic party, but to himself alone. Oh, and his reaction to Clinton clearly beating him yesterday in Nevada hasn't helped. What has also hurt Obama a great deal is his unhinged fan base. They represent the thuggery that was also seen the last ten days in Nevada by Obama. Because of all these developments more and more people are already saying they will not work for him if he's our nominee. I hear it all the time. Now, people may hold their nose and vote for him in November, though that's also not clear right now, but if he's the nominee many people are saying he'll have to get to the White House by himself.

Sound familiar"?

9. Sounds accurate
If he is the nominee it's going to be harder to hold my nose and vote for him than it was for me with Kerry. He's a media creation, competely inexperienced, a huge panderer, a coward when it comes to voting, and decidely unprogressive in many ways. Yeech, I don't see what people see in him AT ALL.

25. He's a rock star, and some people let that fact--his good looks, his
poise, his charisma, his cool--blind them to the fact that he's at least as much of a centrist as Hillary Clinton, if not more so.

Disclaimer: I was crazy about him at first, and still want to believe that while he's running to the right he'll govern to the left, assuming he gets the chance. But his Senate voting record, his ties to his "mentor" Joe Lieberman, his elitist, divisive campaign...I dunno, I got a bad feeling about this. The fact that men like Wes Clark, RFK Jr. and Barney Franks have endorsed HRC just makes an already queasy feeling even worse. I trust their judgment far more than my own. I mean, they know these people personally. I don't--do you?

But he's a Democrat, and if he can bring new voters into the fold and get the nomination, I will work til I drop to get him elected, because I'm a lifelong Democrat myself--totally unlike so many who are now posting on DU and Kos. :grr:

11. Let's face it. They are both corporatists. It is going to take some time

To switch from a corporate fascist state into a progressive one....

The corporations are just changing faces.

The only reason I will even vote dem at all is because they will represent better on social issues.

12. I prefer to call it a "mania".
Many people who support Obama are so upset with what has happened in the past 8 years (as we should all be) that they want to feel good. Obama does that. He makes you feel good. He calls for "hope and change" but what else does he call for? He calls for the abandonement of the movements that brought us ahead during the 1960's-70's. :wtf: Obama thinks that everyone is going to get along nicely if he is the President. That will not happen. The right wing is a bully. You never appease a bully. You have to stand up to them and put them down. Hillary and Edwards will do that, Obama will not.
Obama is not interested in the progessive movement, rather he is interested in pushing his odd way of governing which is destined to fail.

18. TaylorMarsh derangement syndrom rather.
Poor Taylor has totally lost it since she decided to endorse Clinton.

Instead of campaigning positively for her and to tell us why we should vote for her, she spend her time swiftboating Obama and those who support him, while censoring the answers of those who disagree with her.

If you want to read good reporting rather than this rabid attacks (not you the OP, but those who read this), I would suggest Digby or the CarpetBaggerreport. They have not lost their integrity.

19. yeah, it sounds familiar; it sounds like the usual crap from paid Clinton shill
Taylor Marsh. She's a liar. No surprise. She's attached at the hip to the Clinton campaign. But you know what's really funny? The blogosphere has her number. She must be the most derided blogger around. And she's gonna have a hard time making this case in light of his major and very progressive speech. Not to mention that Obama's the 10 most progressive Senator and she's the 31st.

27. That is what I'm seeing. Maybe some people are too enamored with him to see it. He does not sound
as liberal as his followers seem to believe. Makes sense that Oprah likes him. I don't think she is progressive either. I am afraid that if he wins the White House he isn't going to be the great savior many think. The Democrats will be in for a big disappointment.

28. And that, ladies and gentlemen, was the whole reason for Obama's statement on Reagan:
throwing Bill Clinton (the only two term Democratic president since F.D.R.) under a bus to prop up Ronald Reagan.

He wanted to attack Bill Clinton. Passive/aggressive.
