All this talk about Nevada makes me miss my friend Mima.
Mima was a waitress at Bellagio. We met her on one of our trips and she took to my SO and I like crazy. She was funny and so full of life. Whenever we would show up at the casino, she would see us from a distance and SCREAM and run toward and almost tackle us. Another trip she got to meet my mom and step-dad. My SO calls my mom "Momma Woman" and my Step-pappy "Waldo". Mom asked her for a drink and she said "Don't worry, Momma Woman I'll get you and Waldo from drinks". She was Italian and she was sexy and saucy. About two years ago Michael had to go to a conference in Vegas. He called me in tears and said that he went to see Mima and found out she died. She had a brain aneurysm and was doing ok, but suddenly died in the hospital. She left a husband and two young sons. In her honor, we now call our cat Mimi "Mima"

I'll never forget her. Even now when we go back the Bellagio some of the waitress still remember her and how the place is not the same without her.

Ti penso sempre, Mima. Ti amo! :loveya:

One of my favorite stories (other that all the guys she flirted with) .... she was hanging around Michael and I while we played the slots ... we weren't in her section but she did give a shit ... this one waitress (probably her supervisor) strolled by in a nicey-nicey said "Mimaaaa you need to get to you station" ... Mima replied just as sweet .... "Okaaay ........ BITCH!".

9. I can understand why you always think of her
and love her. Some people who touch our lives are never forgotten and we are fortunate for their coming into our lives. You are fortunate to have come to know her. Thanks for sharing.

We always make friends with the waitresses in Vegas. And because we're not trying to hit on them, they respond. But Mima was once in a lifetime woman.

Other than just how beautiful she was, her laugh! Oh my god! And could she make US laugh.

We always tried to tip her, but she wouldn't have anything to do with it. Once time she stuck money down Micheal's pants. I know she just wanted to cop a feel ... but it's all good.

3. Great story. Having gone to college in Reno,

it's great to see casino employees portrayed as real people with real families and sometimes, real troubles.

I'm sure her family would appreciate your thoughtfulness. :grouphug:

6. Thanks ...
I got pissed off when I read some snarky ass remarks about waitresses and heard some snide comments on TV this week.

Our "niece" is a waitress at the Palms and she works her ass off. She was a single mother (she's now married to Michael nephew) and I just adore her.

10. Thanks Tammy!
A force to be dealth with is PERFECT for Mima.

She told me when she and her husband got married the mass was in english. At the time Mima's english wasn't that great. She turned to her husband and said to him in Italian ... "What the fuck is saying and when is this shit going to be over." In other words, Mima wanted it over so she could get on with the honeymoon. I never saw pictures of her husband, but he worked security at Ceasars and per Miss M .... "He's a hot fucking Italian stud and I ware him OUT".
