John Edwards UP 5% in National Poll

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/01/18/poll.2008/index.html

"It also appears the recent bickering between Clinton
and Obama and their campaigns over race has hurt both
candidates. Clinton has the support of 42 percent of
all registered Democrats in the new survey, down seven
points from last week's CNN/Opinion Research Corp.
poll. Obama has the backing of 33 percent of those
questioned, down three percentage points in a week.

The beneficiary appears to be former Sen. John Edwards
of North Carolina, who jumped 5 points, to 17 percent."

45. I'm still with him but..................
...............if Hillary or Obama get the nod I'm going back to the Republican Party. I'm a crossover. I just don't like those other two.....sorry.

Funny thing is, there is nobody else that I know of. Maybe I'm or all of us are Mavericks and think different than other.....but I swear he (John Edwards) is exactly what America needs.

I don't know...........maybe he can pop right out of this....maybe he could go Independent so he screw everybody up....maybe Al Gore could back him or John back Al Gore...I just don't know?

Go JOHN EDWARDS 08

6. Polls have shown him neck and neck in Nevada.
Less importantly, he's very competitive or ahead in a few super tuesday states. the only one i can remember offhand is oklahoma.

It is all about the delegate count.

23. Edwards needs a win very soon.
He can't depend on Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious Tuesday alone, when the Whore Media isn't going to allow anyone in those states to know he exists. Winning Nevada or South Carolina would force him back into the national spotlight.

Same applies to Dennis, who I would rather see win, of course, but he could win EVERY state on Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious Tuesday and STILL be ignored by the likes of Upchuck Todd.

32. so on the one hand
you are saying the media "wont allow anyone in those states to know he exists" but on the other hand a win would "force" him back into the national picture?

sounds to me like you are saying that winning gets you coverage?

which just might suggest that his lack of coverage thus far is due to his lack of winning. Between his 04 run and this run, how many states has he won so far?

unlike anything else he does- as the poster said it will force them to actually say his name on air.

28. Reagan is the antichrist to Edward's message
Edwards is specifically attempting to stop the oligarchy juggernaut launched by Reagan.

I think he should come out and say so.

Pandering to those who still hero-worship reagan in hopes of getting votes from ignoramuses is politics at its slimiest.

It might be risky, but it just might clarify, once and for all, the difference between a true populist and the others.

Check out this video:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=385&topic_id=85662&mesg_id=85662

He says clearly:

"My view is, I would never use Ronald Reagan as an example of change!"

He goes on to list the negatives of Reagan.

40. i think i figured out my support of Edwards at last.

it isn't just a good "feeling" about him or what he's saying.

it is ACTUALLY RELATED POSITIVELY to his CHANGE OF POSITIONS.

it is as if his work inside the CFR and his encounter with the Bilderbergers SHOCKED HIM INTO A NEW LEVEL OF ACTION AND AWARENESS.

it is as if he FOUND SOMETHING OUT IN THERE and is SHOCKED and APPALLED by the plans held dear by the people he encountered.

he is acting as if he's Mulder in the X-Files.

he has found something dastardly out.

and the only way to stop it is to become President.

it is as if his rhetoric of honesty actually belies some shit that he can't even be honest about to us, it's so shocking and awful and bad.

the only hope for the future, then, in his opinion, is to run for President and gain the ability to undo the hideous plan thereby.

i feel confident that this potential profile explains:
* how he has shifted far away from earlier positions - almost in an ABREACTING way
* how he has no need to compromise in his assessment of the current situation in the USA
* why there is no quitting for him and no compromise in his campaign
* why Joe Trippi, a person I do indeed trust to understand the Web and be an essentially good person, is working with him
* why when I met with John during my MBA I felt completely like I was speaking with my own personal lawyer who was going to defend ME against a future tyranny.

HE KNOWS ABOUT THE PARAGUAY PLAN AND 9-11 AND IS DISGUSTED AND IS FIGHTING TO GAIN THE UNILATERAL ABILITY TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

frankly it makes me feel SAFER that John Edwards was/is involved with the CFR. HE KNOWS THESE EVIL NASTY PEOPLE IN THEIR FACES AND HE HAS ALWAYS ATTEMPTED TO SPEAK THE TRUTH TO THEM. Perhaps he even has followers within that circle - I would imagine he does. I hope the CFR isn't ALL evil people - remember Hillary and Obama are both members as well.

Kucinich fans I hope you understand what I am saying here. I believe that DK gave JRE hope after the 2004 loss and that he spent his time out of Washington reading up on Zinn and Chomsky and has been carefully armed with knowledge and strategy in order to get AMERICA, the land I LOVE, out of this mess - WITH OUR DEDICATED AND STRATEGIC HELP. It is in this cause that I am commenting my heart out on M$M webpages and spending so much time here - I BELIEVE THERE IS AN EVIL PLAN AFOOT THAT ONLY PRESIDENT JOHN EDWARDS EVEN KNOWS ABOUT, AND THAT HE HAS MADE THE DECISION TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT !!!

edwards/gore
edwards/biden
edwards/kucinich

these are my preferred tickets, I will be satisfied with any of them, but I don't trust Obama as a running mate at this point and I am rooting for Clinton in the NV primary if Edwards doesn't win because the OBAMA/CLINTON SPARRING IS GOING TO GET MUCH WORSE. Think about it - their followers are slaying each other on here and on dailykos - their candidates are going to do exactly the same thing, and once Edwards can directly debate ONE of the two survivors of this firefight, the Democratic choice will be clear. But the stakes are far higher than a Democratic Presidency - the stakes are more about WHY IS BUSH MOVING TO PARAGUAY WITH SUN MYUNG MOON. Sorry so frantic, I feel like I am being channelled from above and that we only have a short window of time to act before they start carefully monitoring the Internet for strategic dissenters and pulling people like me off into the GULAG in Kansas :(
