Who wants to help me compose a letter to Ted Koppel???
Here's a draft:

Dearest Mr. Koppel,

Things are going very well for General Clark in terms of raising money so I would like
you to raise your hand if you believe that General Clark can beat George W. Bush.

As reported by AP, on Dec. 29, 2003:

"By raising almost as much money as Dean in the third quarter and accepting
federal matching funds, Clark should be financially competitive with Dean in the near term."

Mr. Koppel, raise your hand if this news means that the next
debate should be devoted to a topic other than how much money
Howard Dean has raised, unlike the debate that you sabotaged?

Raise your hand if you belatedly recognize that the American public
should decide who runs on the Democratic ticket, not you.

And raise your hand once more to take Senator Kerry's excellent
suggestion on what you can do with your question.

With all due respect,

()

1. Might help to provide reference...
... to someone who is read regularly, namely, Paul Krugman, and specifically, to his recent column which reads in part (referring press), "It's not about you."

http://www.nytimes.com/2003/12/26/opinion/26KRUG.html?n=Top%2fOpinion%2fEditorials%20and%20Op%2dEd%2fOp%2dEd%2fColumnists%2fPaul%20Krugman

Most of the recent controversy surrounding the candidates and Koppel is his reaction to how _Koppel_ himself was viewed in the last debate, and his apparent retaliatory attacks on some candidates. The above should remind Koppel that he is not running for office; he might be entitled to some umbrage were he a candidate, but he is not. He should be reminded, as should many other media stars that, for that reason, he should not be the bloody fucking center of attention in the public debate on the election.

Most of the right-wing hacks have taken to interviewing _each other_ instead of presenting the issues to the public. If Koppel wants to reduce himself to their level, he should also pay the price for doing so.

Cheers.

2. Excellent suggestion punpirate, thank you!
Mention the best, Krugman, to the worst, Koppel.

Oh, this is delicious.

3. And mention Kucinich, too, because he took Koppel to

task twice, really speaking truth to power! And Sharpton got in the great dig at Koppel's low ratings! All three did a great job of telling Koppel he was being an ass.

I sent him a scathing letter right after that debate.
