11,000 attend Bill Clinton rally at UC Davis

DAVIS, Calif. ——Former President Bill Clinton drew more than 11,000 people to a campus rally Tuesday night, in a sign of the growing intensity of the presidential race in California three weeks from Super Tuesday.
Looking out at the crowd, which filled an indoor auditorium at the University of California, Davis, the former president said he called his wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, from his car, to tell her about the huge lines waiting to get in.

"To put it mildly, we did not expect so many people to come tonight," he said. "I am so glad to see you."

2. Knowing the Clinton's campaign penchant for inflating numbers...
I bet the crowd was more in the 2500 range.

6. Too bad she can't make it on her own merit.
That'll put feminism back a dozen years. It's Bill's presidency again. :eyes:

8. Too bad she can't get those crowds.
She's riding Bill's coat tails. So 1950's.

9. She can get those crowds
I believe she had bigger crowds than that in NYC and SF (without Bill), and she had nearly that many in DC.

10. It's the perception
that it's Bill doing it. He's overshadowing her. All in my opinion of course.
