In Michigan, Hillary lost the INDEPENDENT vote to "uncommitted"
51% of independent voters went for "uncommitted" and 37% for Clinton.

This is now officially the THIRD primary/caucus in which Clinton has lost the "independent" vote to Obama (79% of "uncommitted" voters said they intended Obama). She is losing these voters even when she is the only competitive candidate on the ballot.

Please convince me that Hillary's inability to attract independent voters does not pose an enormous problem for her viability in a general election.

1. Clinton clearly holds no attraction whatsoever to indie voters
cue Clintonians to say this no problem or not true.

4. How could this not be problem?
How much longer can this be ignored? Has everyone forgotten just how many Americans identify as "independent"?

9. Repectfully , That's A Clever Tactic
Challenge your opponent to make an assertion that you have already discounted or belittled before it's made so your opponent feels small before he or she makes it...But a person can't be made small by others...He or she chooses to let others define him or her...

In NH, Hillary got more independent votes than John McCain...

Since you folks are disparaging Hillary's showing against uncommitted in a state where she didn't campaign how are you are going to spin her impending victory in FL by double digits over Obama and Edwards who are on the ballot and where none of them are campaigning?

3. We have a guy with a liberal voting record who attracts Indies/Repubs, but
we might cast him aside for someone who holds no appeal to half the country. Good plan! (sigh)

5. It's delusional, as far as I'm concerned.
It's one thing to lose the independents when everyone is on the ballot. But when you're the only strong candidate on the ballot and they choose essentially "no vote" over you? That's devastating.

6. Yeah too bad Obama isn't as appealing to the party he is seeking the nomination of.

7. And too bad Hillary isn't appealing to people she needs in order to get elected...
So I guess that, in a round about way, "hardcore" Dems are really rooting for another GOP presidency.

8. I don't know--he's got a lot of high-profile endorsements--
doesn't look like he's necessarily UNappealing to the Dem establishment.

10. How many independents will come out and support Obama tomorrow?
These independents will probably vote for the Dem or Repub. candidate, so I think they deserve to caucus.
