Let's see what the candidates have to say then.

Let the Edwards contigency fan the fire. But let Clinton and Obama supporters ignore this. It really isn't helping either candidate. Really.

And, my connection is an aircard, so it's basically dialup.

6. The problem with calling out the MEDIA for promoting this race thing...
...Is that you need the MEDIA to report it.

The debate gives an opportunity for the candidates an opportunity to set the record straight, without being censored by the media. And I hope they use it.

But if the entire debate is wasted on this crap, I'm going to cry/scream/rant/rave/climb onto a clocktower with a loaded rifle... (well, ok, maybe not that last one)

That's not "bashing Clinton" that's giving his opinion.

22. Use whatever word you want
Bash, chide, condemn, criticize, whatever. A rose by any other name still wouldn't have been favorable to the Clinton campaign. The point is that he certainly didn't praise her comments and rebuked the idea of it entirely.

23. "Bash" has a connotation that the criticism is unwarranted / meaningless / nasty, etc.
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 03:29 PM by redqueen
One puts a "unnecessarily negative" kind of spin on things when one uses that word.

18. That's really the point in the end......
It doesn't help us at all.

In watching MSNBC, I believe that both camps have gotten that.

Just saw Sen. Durbin on MSNBC. He was excellent and made that point.

The media pundits are loving this.

As They like to slice and dice.....

25. I'm not here to help Edwards.....But I'm not talking about Edwards himself....
I meant DU Edwards supporters....who could certainly see this as a way in (and I wouldn't blame them)

But that was more of a joke...in saying that since it doesn't help Obama and Clinton, if it keeps on going, one would have to wonder if it ain't Edwards folks. That's all.

But maybe now that they see that it ain't helping their candidate, they will STFU. Which will let us get back to the issues.

20. Wise words Frenchie
Whatever mis steps or ill advised things this or that of our candidates (or their supporters) may or may not have done, we know that Republicans are doing everything in their power to fan any flames of Democratic discord that they can. And the media is helping, either because they are Republican tools and/or simply because they thrive on any and all controversy.

29. No he doesn't
We don't need or want to keep making this diversion the heart of the debate between our candidates. And it would be a stupid and meaningless question to ask anyway. Would any politician of any race or ethical standing answer "yes" to that question? Let's get back to talking about health care and tax policy, and how to deescalate tensions in the Middle East and all the rest of the real issues.

33. Your off topic comment here is blatently untrue
You should learn not to make sweeping accusations in general, and if you really really really are tempted anyway, do an extensive DU search before inserting your foot into your mouth.

The off-topic part of your post is clearly against DU rules as well as ridiculously off target. The poster in question has been part of DU for over 4 years and well known here. She has strong views at times but she backs them up and she will always acknowledge it if she gets something wrong. I suggest you edit your post now before you get multiple alerts. I will hold off doing so to give you a chance to correct your own mistake.

Hopefully both candidate groups will choose to let it drop, and not give the pundit more amo.
