Economy and the candidates...
Um, I'm sorry if this has been brought up, but do you guys know what the Dem candidates are going to do about the national debt? Which plan will be best for the economy?

BTW... I didn't know my last post would bring up so much antagonism questioning me about "Mrs" and me being black. If my being here is a problem, I will leave if you want. I'm sorry if my last post offended you guys, I was just speaking what I was feeling. BTW, if anybody wants to discuss issues with me outside of here, just PM me your AIM handle. :)

1. I think they're all talking about rolling back the tax cuts
on people making above a certain income level, that the only disagreement is what that level should be. They're all above what I am taking in per year, so it sounds great for me, but I'm betting the capital gains tax will also go up, so I will take some sort of hit, too.

2. Hello warpy :)
I've seen Senator Clintons and Senator Obama's preposed packages, but my only question is how will they pay for it?

Also, can you please link me to John Edward's preposed package?

3. which are you worried about, the economy or the national debt?
The debt is certainly higher than it needs to be, what with Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy and his crazy Asian war, but it is not as high as it was at the end of WWII as a percent of GDP.

Edwards has plans for ending poverty and for rebuilding New Orleans, although I do not have details at my fingertips. A link to his website is on the DU homepage. My support of Edwards is not because I necessarily agree with everything in his plan, but because first of all, he, unlike the other three in the race, makes it an issue. At least he would if the M$M let him. I thought it was funny after the NH debate, ABC said that viewers complained that the candidates did not talk more about the economy. Well, how could they when the debate moderator kept asking about nuclear attacks, and Iran, and Pakistan, and Iraq?

Clinton's recent plan to stimulate the economy sounds good to me, but I think she gave a lot of ground when she also mentioned tax cuts as a way to ease the recession. That's what Bush is gonna propose, as he always does, and tax cuts almost inevitably goto those with more income. At least, I myself am not paying any income taxes this year, although I am paying about $2,000 in FICA taxes, $1,000 in property taxes, and maybe $300 in sales taxes (even on my food, thanks to Kansas).
