I'm still undecided, but I just heard Hillary tell a whopper on MTP
I only caught the end of it, and she seemed to be handling herself
very well, but then at the end, she told Russert "always good to see you."

OK, I know she was just being polite, but to ANY Democrat, it is NEVER
good to see, hear, or be anywhere near Tim Russert. Hell, I can't stand the
guy either, and all I have to do to be rid of him is to click the remote.

I guess it's sort of like what would happen to me if I ran into Bush Lite.
I guess I'd still have to call him "sir" or "Mr. President," but it wouldn't be
any more truthful than "I am not a crook."

4. Not voting for Hillary, but I'll back her on this one.
It's called common courtesy. I know you know that as you said, but I can't knock her for this one. Anyone raised by a mom like mine will spout that out as a matter of habit. ;-)

7. Yes, of course I know that
And I've met Hillary often enough to know she's really that
courteous. I was just implying that she was being courteous
to someone who is ignorant of the concept.

12. Oh I know. That's why I said you already said that.
I just thought it funny because I can see myself doing the exact same thing out of sheer habit because of my parents. We're so programmed in that respect.

Though I have to confess the sheer utter disregard with which I hold Bush would undoubtedly countermand any of my common courtesy programming. The Secret Service definitely needs to put me on a "no meet" list. No telling what harmless but disrespectful thing I would do or say in the Shrub's presence.

6. Here's a list of hillary's deceptions on mtp
from poster ZZ..

1. Hillary said that Obama has called himself like RFK or MLK. It's people who have compared him to those leaders, not himself.

2. She said no one wants to inject gender into the race. Her campaign made it very clear it was about gender after her debate performance in Philadelphia. The "men are piling on"? Playing Woman As Victim was an obvious component of her campaign.

3. Hillary said Obama's Iraq speech in 2002 was off his web site. It was ON his web site. The text of the speech is also on his web site. She continued to distort Obama's statements on the Iraq War. Obama has set forth that he will not vote for more funding without timelines.

4. She said when someone does something wrong, they are gone from her campaign. What about Penn?

5. Hillary thinks that Obama's rhetoric is all he has. She has implied that Obama has never passed any legislation. He HAS passed legislation and has done much more than she has ever done.

6. She wants the voters to have accurate records of the issues of the candidates, yet continues to lie about Obama's actual legislation that he authored, co-sponsored or passed. Her accomplishments are thin as Senator. Her claim that the lobbyists getting lunch sitting up or down for campaign reform is only one component of many other reforms, so it's a cheap shot."

11. Go look at HRC's voting recording before making the blanket statement that he passed more
legislation that she has - he hasn't been in as long as she, plus he missed a lot of votes. If you look at her record, she has flown back to vote. I forget the link that compares their records. Surely, you can do a search also.

8. I like that he corrected Hillary's claim about what Obama said in 2004.
Edited on Sun Jan-13-08 09:48 PM by AtomicKitten
The quote where Obama speculates on voting on IWR had he been in the Senate. Hillary, being the pillar of honesty and integrity that she is, consistently leaves off the bit where he says that in his view the case had not been made.

Russert made that same "mistake" before as outlined here by Media Matters:
http://mediamatters.org/items/200711110004

Russert did not quote the very next sentence of Obama's statement, which was, "What I know is that from my vantage point the case was not made" for authorizing the war.

It's pretty pathetic that Russert showed more integrity than Hillary on this.

10. A whopper? Did she hold the cheese?
Or was she as cheesy as usual?

:yoiks:

Given you missed the remainder of her segment, and only caught the end, I think it was merely a gesture of politeness most guests would bestow. In all seriousness, without additional information, I don't see how her statement was a whopper, whopper jr, or tender chickencrisp... and what a annoying name "chickencrisp" is too, but that's a BK thang...
