Give the RALPH NADER thing a rest, alright!
Ralph Nader ran as a Green in 1996...who won???

Last time I checked it didn't screw the Democrats.

Bill Clinton won with Ralph Nader running.

What you all fail to realize is the importance of having a nominee who can appeal to the people who might vote for BOTH NADER AND BUSH.

John Kerry is not that guy.

John Edwards appeals to progressives, Democrats, Moderate (McCain) Republicans, Independents, Southerns, etc.

He, just like Clinton, appeals to a more broader base of voters, and that's important with Nader running.

Kerry is a lot closer to the Gore mold than Clinton (stiff, aloof, boring), and Edwards is a lot closer to the Clinton style that Kerry is (smooth, southern, charismatic).

Just look at some of the people who have endorsed Edwards.

Joel Rogers ( http://www.thenation.com/doc.mhtml%3Fi=20040223&s=rogers ) and Christopher Hitchens ( http://slate.msn.com/id/2095158/ )???

Talk about different personalities and beliefs, but they agree on Edwards. You have the Democratic party, the Democratic ESTABLISHMENT I MEAN, lining up behind John Kerry because they intended for him to be the nominee a long time ago (that's why the convention was scheduled for Boston), and it is flying right over their heads that people from different groops all see Edwards as the best choice.

If you all think that John Kerry, with just the support of the Democratic party is good enough, then keep complaining about Ralph Nader.

I would much rather have a candidate who can win Nader's votes (Joel Rogers) and Bush's votes (McCain Republicans, southerners, and Christians), and that's John Edwards.

Bump Ralph Nader.

He doesn't scare me, because he doesn't hurt my choice for the nomination...

3. Edwards... smart guy... looks like a kid
ain't votin for no child...

we need a steady, rational, mature president to pull us out of this mess... Kerry is that guy. Personally, I wanted Dean.

Edwards... smart, would make a great president.. but Rove would make him look like an inexperienced kid in the eyes of the average joe blow voter. Wouldn't matter to anyone on this board, but DU is a tiny minority

6. Edwards look older each day that passes.
Clinton looked like "A KID" when he ran as well.

He had a few streaks of gray, and Hillary certainly looked like "A LAWYER," with that long hair.

If all that you worry about is Edwards looking like "AN INEXPERIENCED KID," then you may as well vote for him.

Bush's campaign has already said that if Edwards is the nominee, "THEY MIGHT REFUSE TO DEBATE HIM," so I don't accept your argument.

Bush would look like a the inexperienced "WIMP" once Edwards finished with him...

8. scumbag Rove
hey... I dont like it but I know how scumbags like Rove think. Edwards could mop the floor with Bush in a debate. Kerry is no slouch in a debate either. I couldn't believe Gore blew it so bad in 2000 with that idiot Bush "Deer in the Headlights" bungling along.

But this is America and a whole lot of voters will buy Rove's advert onslaught showing Edwards as a young inexperienced candidate who doesnt fit the popular perception of a "War President". Reality and intelligence dont have a whole lot to do with this

4. He's an egotistical ass and needs to be told so in a loud and
continuous voice until he begins to understand that if the repugs are giving him money just like sharpton the he serves the same purpose. If even the greens wont have him get a clue.

5. So, I guess you are talking about...
...Ralph Nader, and not John Edwards?

The point of my post is that Edwards can win with Nader running, just like Clinton did.

Kerry will lose BIG TIME with Nader running.

11. Edwards can't win anymore than Kerry I'm from Arkansas
and have just returned from Ark Tenn and Mo. it doesn't matter what the shrub has done if no one south of the Mason Dixon line has a job and if were losing 1000 kids a day over there they will still vote for the shrub because of "Gay Marriage" issue. Every church has a sign outside and every preacher is preaching against it. They will be motivated and will vote for the shrub no matter what. The south and Midwest are gone! Florida will be stolen as will Cali. now that Arnie can purge the democratic roles just before the election. Wake up and smell the napalm, spend your time on congressional races if we are lucky we will only lose 25-35 seats. The senate will be 2/3 repug.
