Just wondering about that Hillary heckler episode....
Edited on Thu Jan-10-08 05:58 PM by ingin
Has anybody seen the updates regarding the "Radio Show Stunt" at the Hillary Rally in NH?

They found the guys who did it, but it has opened up a few troubling questions.

Nick Gemelli, who is 21, and born at least a decade after “iron my shirts” was an anti-women’s rights slogan, didn’t have much of a rationale. “I just don’t think a woman should be President,” he said.

He couldn’t really say why, but he agreed that he was a health care voter, as the sticker on his carrying case implied. The “Hillary for President” sticker was a bit more of a puzzle.

http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/dc/2008/01/sexist-jamokes-disrupt-hillary.html

Update: MM notices something I noticed too. Why would Hillary ask for the lights to be turned on when they held up the sign? If they aren’t plants then she’s even cannier and quicker on her feet than I gave her credit for.

I just think that in the interest of fair play, since this seems to be epicenter of the "Sexism in the Party" debate, that we get to the root of what actually occurred that day. You know, considering the Clinton staff's history of planting questions.

If Hillary is willing to fake an incident in order to make herself look like a victim, what else is she willing to do... and how far is she willing to go?

36. Plenty of difference, Ronny. Not enough, granted, but still.
At least we are TRYING to like you, eh?
Just quit dissing an entire online community because of a small percentage of assholes.
That happens aLOT with the hardcore "supporters" - they speak of DU in dismissive and 3rd person terms.
"Those DUers are going to EXPLODE when X wins"
this is quite different than "I wish there weren't so many jerks on DU, it's crazy in primary season."

Just something to think about between your next snarky comment.
Which I often find amusing, probably because we have similar type of humor. ;)

I don't have a candidate, but defend them against bs, as time allows...especially the racist, sexist and just plain cruel.
(I am holding off so I can be more objective, and to see how they run their campaigns, until my late primary in Tx.)
Unlike some, it is not just loyalty to one person, but to ideals of progressivism, democracy, civil discourse.
It is a different way to see things I guess.

I think quickly turning up the house lights is a good security measure, a good move strategically in order to show these asses for what they are, and to help clear them out while the cameras roll.
Pretty savvy, in my opinion.

kind of like the "young people" that "flocked" to become Hillary's backdrop at her NH Victory speech.

entirely. A center-right Senator pretends to be reborn as a populist progressive.

Both Obama and Edwards are fairly good actors.

At least Obama's persona squares with his actual record.

9. Highly doubtful it was plant. Two reasons.
If Hillary planted that d-bag and proof was discovered, her candidacy would be over. No doubt about it. That's juggling with nitro.

Second, stupid local radio shock jocks do crap like this all the time. Occam's Razor. A highly risky plant with huge potential blowback, or a stupid radio show stunt? I'll take the latter.

16. and they did it on 2003..what a planner Hill is...
and way lame in 2008, especially since it's the same guy doing it.

Several sources around the net identify the guy in the picture above holding up the "IRON MY SHIRT BITCH" sign at Augusta National in 2003 (mocking the NYT's heroine Martha Burk as she attempted to open the club to female members) as Rich Shertenlieb.

Rich Shertenlieb is now a co-star of the Toucher and Rich show, the ones who just tried to pull a similar stunt on Hillary, using the same orange sign. Except this time he sent the interns, and they were just lame and disruptive and pathetic.

If you bother checking out this cretin's page, note that he takes credit for "screwing with protesters at the Masters".

Anyway, same guy as in the original, still offering the same old fresh humor. He's even teaching it at DJ "Boot Camp", making him kind of guru of stereotypical corporate radio morning-zoo canned wocka-wocka zany madcap outrageousness
