Obama, if elected- Biden VP?

I have been pondering this possibility following Biden's drop out of the race. What do you guys think? Biden was my favorite candidate, and he will remain my favorite.

But what do you think of that? This would answer the Obama experience issue, particularly with Foreign Policy... At first I was thinking Joe wouldn't accept, being that he would be working under someone who was probably in high school when Joe began his career in politics. But then I got to thinking about how unselfish Biden really is- he is a special senator. I think he would accept it, and I think this would be a great ticket.


I took notice of a very interesting exchange between the two at a recent debate, which made me think that there was a chance in the future for them to come together and bring and end to our disastrous status as Americans throughout the world.

There's lots of cabinet room.

Attorney General John Edwards. Secretary of State has lots of good candidates, but Biden and Richardson stand out. Secretary of Defense Wes Clark. I'd even go for Dean on Health and Human Services, if he weren't kicking ass where he is now.

And for the love of god, could we replace Reid with either Clinton or Feingold as Senate Majority Leader?

Sadly, Kucinich as Speaker of the House would be too much to ask.

4. I like it but would Biden want it? He can stay as the Chairman of the Senate Foreign

Relations Committee.

I also like Webb - which would maintain the ticket as both being against the Iraq War from the beginning.

who will add a Red State in my opinion. Not just him but whoever wins the nomination. Mark Warner and Webb from Virginia would be the top two for me.

Edwards didn't bring NC or SC did he? Gore didn't win TN? Cheney - WY was a given anyway.

I think people vote party more than state. And independents vote issues and/or character more than geography.

I actually think Biden does like Obama - based on their interactions in debates (not just the race thing). they know each other from SFRC. Biden said Obama is like he was early in his career - idealistic, hopeful, energetic young guy etc. The whole clean (cut), articulate thing came from a mangled compliment of Biden.

I think their styles are relatively similar. Pretty similar on policy, e.g., health care pragmatism. I was hoping Biden / Obama (rather than what some bright blogger called the Robin / Batman effect)

Can't see Biden going VP or SoState for Clinton (due to Bill and to HRC's ego). Could see him as VP or SoState for Obama if he was given wide latitude AND the Senate seemed safely democratic.

Biden had a statement in the press where he said he wasn't running for VP or SofState - and to be in those positions I'd have to really agree with the President on the policy (sorry, paraphrasing, can't remember where it was - somewhere just before IA caucus)

I don't think Joe has changed his mind. I guess we will have to wait and see, but my guess is, he hasn't.

13. I would LOVE Biden to be the veep (Since he cannot have the top slot)

...but I don't think he would want to be the second in command to someone SO much less qualified than himself.
....plus there's his great job in the senate.
For some reason, the only administration job I can see him taking is Sec of State for Clinton.....but whomever the eventual nominee is would be lucky to have Biden in any capacity.

the race so early.
I know what Biden has said, and believe him.
I just think that should President Hillary Clinton become a reality, she will ask, and when it is a real life decision and not a hypothetical he will take the job.
Just a gut feeling.

Nothing will motivate the GOP, who are otherwise unhappy with their candidates, like the thought of the Clintons moving back into the White House.

One reason I don't want her as nominee - whether it's fair or not, people are more motivated to vote against her than against Obama.
