Does racism explain the discrepency in polling and voting?
This is very intriguing. This would not be the first time this happened to a black candidate, unfortunately (such as Doug Wilder or Tom Bradley). The polls were close on the Republican side. McCain is up by six and he led three of the last four polls since yesterday. He led by nine, seven, and one in those. He was four points behind in another. On the Democratic side Obama led by five, nine, thirteen, and seven in the polls since yesterday.

21. My friend from work told me Obama was going to lose NH and here's why...

He came over to my cube the day after the IA caucus to celebrate the good news. He said that he has a lot of family in NH and he says they're not as "progressive" as you think (well, he called them racist mf'ers but I didn't want to say that).

My only thing is that if the polling was more or less accurate for McCain why wasn't it for the Dems?

1. McCain is part of the established power block in Washington.
They aren't worried about him.

The manipulation is all on the Democratic side, and they're doing it to prevent Edwards from being elected. They are fearful that he will do what he's said he's going to do...bring real change.

Hillary and Barack are apparently less of a concern, so it doesn't matter *WHICH ONE* wins, as long as it's not Edwards, and they'll focus on whichever one is the most talkable at any given time.

Watch for the pattern...it's becoming pretty apparent.

2. I don't think so
There were some very unusual dynamics in the last minutes of this race that clearly kicked in (not to mention that the polls showed a large undecided)

3. I think a big part of it was the polls that showed Obama's lead widening,
which means the independents didn't think Obama needed their votes and they went over to the Republican primary to keep that crazy Mitt Romney or looney Huckabee didn't win.
