Bill Clinton perfected "crying"
The tears welling up in the eyes, the crack in his voice, it just made everybody swoon. Of course, when his wife tries it, she gets a different response. He rarely actually cried, I just needed to say that he really did bring this register of emotion to an art form, and that I believe he is the most salient comparison. Don't know why I haven't seen this posted in the last 24hrs, probably didn't read closely enough.

You can make the same statement and have a handful of idiots masturbate with joy at it...

Here we tend to focus on policy and position. You know. Real shit.

When Clinton teared up, I always got the impression he was really tearing up--that he felt those emotions sincerely, that they revealed where it is he comes from as a statesman and as a policy maker.

What's worse, when Sen. Clinton got teary this week, I believed her too. I think that being in electoral politics, laying your ego and reputation on the line for your beliefs, opens you up to a wide array of emotions. And in the heat and stress of a campaign, Sen. Clinton was able to do exactly that. I don't think these were alligator tears.

I don't support her candidacy. But people who think she's not a good public servant just cause they disagree with some of her choices are pinchasses. She's a good person; and if she chooses to show a little more vulnerability in her candidacy, that makes her no less a sincere person. And she is no less a good public servant for having tried.

3. Hm. I don't recall Bill ever doing that.
Considering how repulsive I find it, I think I would have remembered.

Do you recall specific instances of this?

It was at Ron Brown's funeral. He was walking and talking and laughing until he saw the camera.

5. Yeah, I saw that 1000 times on knuckledragger sites. It's a classic movie for Neanderthals.
Not exactly what was described in the OP.
