The first inspiring moment of the Debates tonight

Moderator called for all candidates to come on stage...mentioning that he would like them to all come up, because one year from now we'll all be supporting our new president from the people on the stage.

It was VERY heartwarming to see all of them talking and smiling at each other, especially Edwards and Obama taking about 30 seconds to speak with the republicans.

In a word, amazing.

One word used to describe it in the commentary after was "Unprecedented"

Fabricated to the hilt...

Just like that question to each Repug about Obama.

They were letting McCain attract Independents by giving McCain a TV ad against Obama.

They are so fucking predictable, this media! :eyes:

12. I hope that they can shake hands.....
That's what grown ups do.

But yes, it was nice.

Brought back a bit of sanity....that will last exactly 1 minute.

4. I'm with you. . .a bunch of DUers are not going to like it, they want BLOOD. . .
. . .I'm as partisan as they get, but every now and then I'd like to think we can at least make nice for a photo op.

8. Yes, it was very cool.
I would have loved to see a still shot of the 10 of them! And how about that big hug between McCain and Edwards! Wonder what that was all about!

13. Noticed that too
That wasn't just a "kind embrace" from McCain - it looked like genuine affection for Edwards.

15. I liked it too.
I like to think that division in our country can be healed and tolerance for others is achievable.
Silly me. :-)

16. Shaking hands shows respect, but hugging is over the line.
