You racist!!

I'm kidding. Expect some Obama supporters to accuse you of that soon, though.

The "race card" NEEDS to stop. Calling people racist because they support another candidate or fear the REPUBLICANS will use it as an issue needs to stop.

"Oh, we can't elect a black man. The REPUBLICANS might not like that!"

Dude, he polls better than any other Democrat among independents and among Republicans. He polls the highest crossover appeal of any candidate from any party. There's no reason to think the general public will react to his skin color as negatively as you seem to.

5. This is not about what the Republicans think of us
Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 02:56 AM by MalloyLiberal
It's about reality. The American people voted for George W. Bush in 2004, just remember that.

Also remember that the Jena Six story broke out. That shouldn't happen in America.

Obama supporters, while having good intentions, 'dream' that America is a shiny happy place full of tolerant people. It's not. That's why there have been several gay marriage bans put into place in states.

8. Obama supporters, with good intentions, dream.
America is not a shiny, happy, tolerant place. We wouldn't have gay marriage bans enacted if it were so. Kerry would be our President. We would be out of Iraq.

16. We can't know that until election day.
We really can't. Citing polls now does not help, or one state (Iowa) doesn't either. Iowa does not represent the United States as a whole. You have to count on him actually turning out these Republicans for him. We thought we could get some Republicans for Kerry too, and look how that worked out.

Uh-huh.
So polling data showing Obama having the greatest independent appeal and greatest crossover appeal doesn't count, because it's not a real election.

And the only real election data we have--which backs up the polling data--doesn't count, because it's only one state.

However, despite them declaring that they will in polls, and despite the only actual election held backing this up to an even greater extent than polls predicted, we are expected to believe that Americans in fact will not vote for Obama...because you, MalloyLiberal, think the average American is too racist.

I think the average American is proving that he's not the racist one here.

30. Look at what just happened in Iowa...
Iowa is not exactly known as a bastion of diversity.

I think minorities are 2 percent of the population.

We just overwhelmingly supported Obama in the Iowa caucuses.

33. Iowa is nothing like Montana, or South Carolina.
We have to stop relying on the east in national elections and thinking that's going to give us a win. You have to win some other states. You have to govern the United States of America, not the 10 Blue States of America.

34. How can you formulate your plans...
...based on what bigoted, ignorant fools think?

So, we're not supposed to leverage minority candidates, because we must
cater to the lowest, bigoted common denominator in our country

I'm sorry, but fuck that!

You think we are dreamers. Sorry, but you have to push up against this type
of bullshit. You don't allow it to dictate who we elect.

You fight like hell. You move forward. You don't stand in a really sick
place and fight to stand in the status quo.

Did you ever think, for a moment, that this entire nation is sick of us
nominating only rich, white, powerful men for President? Maybe there are
hundreds of thousands of people (white, black, yellow, rich, poor, urban,
rural,) who would suddenly find politics more interesting, meaningful and
pertinent--if we had the courage to nominate someone new, different,
inspirational; someone who wasn't a cookie-cutter candidate?

11. Here I thought Clinton had the sharpest, most hard-knuckled campaign out there.
And now you're telling me that Obama is putty to be molded by an opponent. Yet, despite all her attempts, she can't put a dent in him. So, which is it?

Is it that Obama is not actually as weak as you claim he is?
Or is it that Clinton is not capable of beating an incredibly weak opponent?

12. This is not about aha, let's stick it to the Republicans
The crazies in this country that voted George W. Bush , and more, will be out in full force to stop Obama if he is the nominee. Like it or not. Skin color matters to those Republican voters. They are still , maybe secretly, but still racist. And they will be activated if Hillary is the nominee. Heck, her Facebook group has hundreds of thousands members (of real people). No, it's not a pro-Hillary group. It's the I Hate Hillary group.

20. There are MORE Democrats and Independents than r-THUGS...

..and if Barack is nominated, he has just as good of a chance of winning as any of the thugs.

History has already been changed once this week in what the media has dubbed "lily white Iowa" -- and as David Gergan said, it gets easier for Obama after that.

As far as Swiftboating goes ---- our party will SWIFTBOAT back 10 fold.

Quit worrying. Republicans SUCK -

You don't think we learned anything from John Kerry's campaign???!?!?

You have to remember how much money the Democratic Party, 527's, and our candidates have in comparison to the loons on the right this time.

We will TRASH and BURN them.

It could well backfire, even if they DO try it.

I think it's quite an assumption to say it's a done deal before anyone has a chance to decide.

Frankly, the suggestion that we bow to it offends me.

29. Oh, I believe they will.
The Clinton camp already is by planting the suggestion that Obama is a Muslim cocaine dealer out there. So I know the Republicans will do the same thing.

Thing is, it didn't work for Clinton, and I don't think it'll work for the Repugs, either. This ain't 2004. The political landscape has changed vastly in these four short years, and a pro-war candidate like Hillary (or is it just an accident that she's gotten more money from defense contractors than any other major candidate?) won't fly.
