Scene: the Clinton party, after the cameras left

DES MOINES, Iowa (CNN) – Long after the local and national TV outlets had turned away from her headquarters, Hillary Clinton was still going.

She worked the stage full of supporters that had assembled behind her. She hugged and shook hands with prominent backers such as Madeleine Albright and Terry McAuliffe and stopped to talk with Iowa surrogates who had become constants on her travels across the state. One woman decked out in full AFSCME regalia commanded the senator's attention until they were practically alone on the stage.

Senator Clinton descended from the stage and worked the remaining fans pressed against the bunting clad ropeline, posing for pictures and signing autographs. She outlasted President Clinton, not one ever to leave a ropeline early....

4. She may be the REAL "Energizer Bunny" of this campaign.

(Although I am a little surprised that the Edwardsians here decided to favor that particular moniker for Honest John: after all, that pink rabbit is always in flip flops. And I wouldn't have expected them to want to mention bunny rabbits: not with the pregnant lady issue hanging over them.)

6. Hell, I absolutely can't stand her, but this is where she shines.
Much as I dread the possibility, this could work out beautifully for her: New Hampshire is a very conservative state for New England, and if she bounces, it can reinforce the image of indestructability. I fully expect her to not make any abrupt changes in tactics, not reshuffle her staff, and to keep up the heat.

These strengths are very appealing to many people, too, so this could well be a blessing in disguise.

As for predictions, I simply can't make any, much as it IS fun to weigh the different possibilities.

Also, out of pure selfishness, as someone who never cared for sports, this is my sporting event and it's much more intriguing for sheer spectator pleasure than a walkover.

It had to be a tough night for her but you could tell when she took the stage for her speech that the cheers and love flowing from her supporters were really lifting her up.

20. she is (and all the Dem Candidates are) (a) class act(s)
I really dread a Hillary candidacy in the GE (and I would be enthusiastic about Obama, Edwards, or Kucinich for various reasons), but my political perspective does not diminish my admiration of her as a hard worker and a classy individual.

Those of you who are backing Hillary have plenty to be proud of. If she moves on to the GE, she will likely have my vote, and perhaps even (depending on how she frames and tackles the issues important to me: Constitutional rights, economic justice, environmental quality, and affordable healthcare) my active support.
