U.S. Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., told nearly 300 listeners Monday afternoon in the Ames Public Library Auditorium the next president will be "left with no margin of error."

Biden paused to welcome his mother to the stage, saying, "Mom, you're interrupting my speech."

His mother, who he said lives with him and looks "not a day over 91," along with his wife, children, and granddaughter are accompanying Biden on the campaign trail in the days leading up to Thursday night's Iowa caucuses.
