Iowa vs. New Hampshire and why anything is possible.
I was reading http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/N/NEXT_STOP_NH?SITE=NYROR&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT">this article earlier and it really got me thinking. More specifically...

(snip)
"(lame ass McCain quote)...That's a diplomatic way of saying New Hampshire primary voters see little merit in rubber-stamping decisions made in Iowa.

Truth be told, they specialize in humbling the mighty.

Think 2000, when George W. Bush roared out of Iowa, only to lose New Hampshire by a whopping 19 percentage points to McCain.

Only twice since 1976 has the same Democrat won both Iowa and New Hampshire in a contested nominating campaign. And for all the boasting that Granite-Staters do about picking presidents, both Al Gore and John Kerry went on to lose the general election."
(snip)

Ok. First off, I know... Gore really did win, but I dont want to get into that here. What I want to point out is this:

2000

IA: George W. Bush (41%), Steve Forbes (30%), Alan Keyes (14%), Gary Bauer (9%), John McCain (5%), Orrin Hatch (1%)
NH: John McCain (49%), George W. Bush (30%), Steve Forbes (13%), Alan Keyes (6%), Gary Bauer (>1%), Orrin Hatch (>1%)

emphasis: mine

All Im saying is that anything can happen. Whether your candidate finishes first or or 5th in Iowa... they could still win NH. And with the super-compressed primary calendar this year, it could carry over more (than it did in 2000) to the next states.

Dont lose hope after Iowa... regardless of who you're supporting. Yeah.. even you Hillary Supporters. :P

And heres to the final year of W. I think we can ALL agree with that! :toast:

2. If the person in front of you at the ice cream shop orders a dish of vanilla
you can still have something else even if there is 24/7 media coverage of the "breaking news" vanilla purchase

3. Precisely.
:) Me personally, Id love for our states to share the early primary position. But since thats not happening this time around... at *least* our votes arent lockstep.

Mccain didn't contest Iowa.He spent his time on New Hampshere.Bradley did the same thing but Mccain won the Indepent vote.Clark, and Lieberman also wrote off Iowa In 2004.When candates write off Iowa
they always pay for It.This was the reason back In 1980 Bush senior won In Iowa over Reagan.
