The increasingly nasty and personalized attacks against one candidate by the partisans of another candidate raise a question.
How many of us attack a particular candidate simply because it is not our own candidate. And, by extension, how many fellow DUers do you slam simply because they are on an opposing "team" in the primaries?
I'll admit, I'm guilty of that myself sometimes.
However, I do try to at least be intellectually honest in terms of trying to avoid trumped-up attacks.
Frankly, I really do not want Hillary to be the nominee, for reasons that are much larger than whether I happen to like or dislike her personally. So, I do my share of negative posts about her -- probably unfairly at times. But I see that in the category of fundamental differences with perpetuating a broken and totally unfair status quo in the nation.
Kucinich also falls into a special category for me personally. I totally admire him and agree with at least 90 percent of his platform...But he has proven not to be an effective presidential candidate, nor an effective message carrier for progressives in the nomination process.
Otherwise, I support Edwards, but I try not to "go after" Obama or other candidates simply because of that. I'm extremely lukewarm about Obama. I can take him or leave him, and if he wins the nomination I'll certainly be pulling for him. Same goes for Biden and the others.
That's how I try to handle it. How do you see it?
