Obama/Hillary = When winning is all that matters
It takes a lot of time to actually analyze their records, etc. But, if you really care what happens with you and your children's future, it is worth it.

Money can get them elected, but it won't change the fact that once elected, they'll sell you out as fast, if not faster, than they did to get the money to elect them in the first place.

1. Obama has a great progressive record.
He has spent a decade standing up for unions, the environment, choice, equal rights and getting corporate influence out of government. He didn't just start talking about these issues more during the campaign season. He has always been there and I would also encourage people to look at Obama's real record instead of cheap shots and spin from Edwards supporters.

5. Give me a break
Obama and Hillary are OUT posting, fundraising, TV advertising us average, common folk (progressive/liberals) by a mile or two -- sorry if the common folk don't post as well as all you so-called sophisticated, edumacated, folk think we ought to ... shame on us for just speaking our minds!

8. What the fuck, dude?

Don't act like I'm some "liberal elite" trying to tell you what's best for you. I'm a blue collar raised, high school grad who lives in a lower middle class neighborhood who's still trying to get through collage at 39yo. I'm hardly sipping chardonnay with Streisand. If you have some sort of complex, I'd suggest working it out with a professional, not exploding on DU.

Edited to add:

Did I not mention in the other thread that I support Edwards and his very progressive views? Throwing out right wing slurs about upper-class elites really won't work with me.

13. When an election is won, and trust me, it will be won
on dollars raise >$100m (Obama/Clinton) and Celebrity endorsements (why do you think they go after them?) then you KNOW democracy, as a principle, is in trouble.

3. Money gets any candidate elected
Any of these candidates could be capable of selling out, not just these two.

you're supporting the Keebler Elf and not the Uberphony -
or I'm going to be really disappointed with you as a person!

(If it is the uberphony though, PM me: I have a unique opportunity to offer you: I'm in the market to sell a national landmark of engineering masterwork, sheathed in attractive masonry, provides easy access for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians from Manhattan to Brooklyn and back again. And Brooklyn is so hot right now!

PM me: price is negotiable; payment plans available.)

9. What a hateful, stupid post.
Insulting the physique and questioning the motivations of other candidates is just asinine and speaks volumes about the kind of "person" who would do it. Don't you have some real life people you can bother with your vomiting? Probably not, huh?

7. Then why don't you post somebody's record
Anybody's - if that's what is really so all-fired important to you.

11. Paranoia is fun, but a quick look at their records shows otherwise.

12. sjdnb: When spewing shit is all that really matters
It takes a lot of time to actually analyze their records, but when you do, you realize they're all flawed.

It takes money to get elected. It desn't mean that they'll sell you out simply because it takes money to win. Of course if you're as ignorant as the OP, you don't understand that Obama's fundraising didn't include lobbyists anymore than JE's did. He just reached a lot more small donors than anyone else
