I think Kucinich may do better than people think in Iowa
Edited on Fri Dec-21-07 08:45 PM by Quixote1818
Kucinich is not my top candidate but I do like him. I don't know where I saw it but a recent poll had him going from 1% to 4% in Iowa. He had been at 1% all year then suddenly jumped to 4%. I think that is significant especially this close to the elections. There is clearly movement toward Kucinich. What may hurt him is that Edwards is the most similar to Kucinich so people may go ahead and vote for Edwards just to make sure he does well. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kucinich getting from 5 to 10% and maybe even beating Richardson or Biden.

On Edit: It's possible that jump was because of the Register keeping him out of the debate. That seemed to piss off a LOT of people in Iowa.

1. Won't matter in the Iowa caucus
for any candidate that gets less than 15%.

2. The perception that Edwards is similar to Kucinich is erroneous,
but certainly pervasive.

The jury is out on Edwards, from my perspective. He sounds pretty good now, but his talk doesn't match his past record. There is no way for me to tell if his future walk will match his current talk.

5. That is exactly the problem I have with Edwards.
What he's saying now is great, but can he live up to it?

10. I hope he can.
We need MORE good people shifting our way, and every one of them should be welcome. He's not my choice this time around, though. The question is valid. I'm with Dennis Kucinich, the guy who has already demonstrated steadfast commitment to walking his talk, especially when he also has the best platform.

6. I think Edwards is where a lot of Democrats are now
Many of us use to be more Moderate but we have grown and moved left over the last several years. People are seeing how corrupt the corporations are and that we need RADICAL change. I identify with Edwards because I think he and I experienced the same growth and understanding of what is truly going on. I think Edwards eyes were opened after watching the Bush Administration at work just like 1/2 the country's eyes were opened. Edwards seems like he believes whole heartedly what he is talking about. Either that or he is a better actor than Ronald Reagan.

9. Well, honestly,
not to diminish your point, but it's not hard to be a better actor than Ronald Reagan.

I do see your point, though, and I hope that you are correct; that Edwards is evolving left rather than acting left. The more that evolve this way, the better, and he is certainly welcome.
