Just got back from seeing Dean in Green Bay WI
Edited on Mon Dec-29-03 05:39 PM by goddess40
He was wonderful!
As we pulled into the parking lot on the far end we saw pro-Bush protesters. What were they protesting? - as far as I could tell they were protesting democracy. It is unpatriotic to run against King Bush. I did notice one women with a plush jacket that looked like the flag, more on her in a minute.
After we went in and my mother had to argue with the hosts about bringing in her small flag. They said no sticks, right away we thought that Bush must be lurking around. It ended up they didn't want signs on sticks because it might block someones view. After we sat down who do I see come in and sit in the back row but the flag jacket women. She had a Dean sticker stuck to her forearm. She must of misrepresented her intentions, otherwise she wouldn't have the sticker. I find that very hard to believe as we all know Republicans would never misrepresent themselves. She sat through the whole speech with a sour look on her face it was obvious she wasn't there to hear anything as she already had been programed what to think.
In the end it was a good thing my mother fought to get the flag in as it was the only one in the room when Dean came to talk to us. (We were in the overflow room and watched the speech on a big screen)

4. there were at least 250- 300 in our room
with about 6 protesters in the back corner. They were well behaved, but it bothers me because I know we wouldn't be allowed any where near any of their events.

7. I'm Lovin It !!!
Your mother fights to get her small unobtrusive flag into the meetup to show that the rePukes haven't cornered the market on patiotism.

The rePuke sour-puss lady not only wears some gaudy version of the flag in her attempt to 'out-patriotic' everyone else, but she lies her way in, puts a Dean sticker on her arm in a pathetic attempt to 'blend in', and then sits there scowling hoping to flood the place with her bad juju, LOL!!!

What a riot! Props to you and your mom!!!

And they wonder why we hate them...

:hi::evilgrin::hi:

11. Al Franken has a good answer
In his lies and the lying liars who tell them he talks about how the right loves "their" country the way a 4 year loves their mommy and that we love our country like an adult. We are open at looking at and dealing with our shortcomings not blindly believing that the country is without fault and that anyone that questions it is bad.

The right hates us because they are told to, we dislike them because so many of them mindlessly spout the party line without even attempting to understand it. Most of us take the time to have a basis for our views and it get very frustrating to talk to someone who basis their beliefs on lies. I guess I'm trying to say that yes of course they can say what they want but we don't have to let lies go unchallanged. We also have the right to get angry as mindless ranting.

but mostly white, but all ages and equally male Female. There were quite a few union shirts.
It was during the working day so that limited who could come.

I have to add that it is so enjoyable to see someone speak that can actually string more than a few words together and that you know that he understands what he is saying.

For entertainment on the way to and from Green Bay, we live about an hour and a half away, we listened to Al Frankens book on tape. Another person that understands the Bush administration.
