I geuss he just tries to hide it, because he doesn't want people to think that he's milking it for political gain...

4. I think I'd heard that once before...
he's reluctant to talk about it, though. But I *DID* learn something yesterday that I never knew: his real name is "Johnny". "John" is a nickname.

Edwards talked about it all the time during the 2004 campaign. I haven't heard many of his campaign speeches lately, but he certainly hasn't hid his beginnings. That's his sctick. "I know what it's like because that's where I came from." I never understood those who criticize him for his wealth. He came from little and he made the money honestly, defending those who had little against the big guys. Isn't that the American dream?

of course I knew. About the mill-worker, anyway. It's a staple of his speeches. We're making fun of it. But I didn't know his legal name was "Johnny".

Does that mean you would trust having your gall bladder surgery performed by your favorite surgeons wife?

20. If we don't count her "experience" as First Lady, how many more terms has she served than Obama? If
we don't count being married to a man who has won elections, what elected offices has she held and for how many years total? What elected offices has Obama held, and for how many years total?

She knows the layout of the White House already.

10. Don't forget that valuable "fish sliming" experience :)
Which will come in handy with those Republicans :silly: From ABC news: She then headed off to travel and work her way across Alaska, washing dishes at Mount McKinley and sliming salmon at a fish-processing cannery in Valdez. Clinton would later quip on the David Letterman show that sliming fish was the best preparation she ever had for working in Washington.

19. She was fired from that job (I love this story)
She is talking about the summer during law school when she went to Alaska and got a job in a fish-processing plant. She was supposed to scoop out the entrails, but she began to get worried about the state of the fish. "They were purple and black and yucky looking," she recalled. She questioned the owner about how long the fish had been dead, and he warned her to stop asking questions. But she continued asking questions, and was fired within a week. She didn't care. "I found another job," she said coolly. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9E0CE6DA1F3DF93BA25756C0A964958260&sec=&spon=&pagewanted=all

8. Yes. All he's got, he earned.
Like Hillary. But in my backyard, it's a plus if you still remember a parent who had to punch a clock and fight for benefits. Which is why I'm voting for Edwards.
