Obama not suprised by Register's Clinton endorsement

JASON CLAYWORTH
REGISTER STAFF WRITER

Obama communications director Robert Gibbs said Obama heard about The Register’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton late Saturday while traveling to a campaign stop from Charles City to Mason City.

The Illinois senator was not surprised, Gibbs said.

“They said very nice things about us. We’ll keep Jason on the bus,” Gibbs said, speaking of writer Jason Clayworth, the lead Obama reporter for the paper.

Earlier Saturday, in Waterloo, Obama told reporters that he would like the paper’s endorsement.

“I think it would be disingenuous to pretend that we haven’t actively sought it but I don’t think it overrides whatever work has been done out in the field.”

3. He is most definitely a Class Act.. this really jumped out at me
after his performance in the last debate - his impromptu testimony for Biden and the comment to HRC.

Why, he and Biden could do Stand Up, I believe.. maybe we could get Jon Stewart back on the air !

7. Yep, this makes it anyone's game now
I might even give the advantage to Hillary in Iowa. But I'm hoping Obama can pull it out on election day.

13. I don't know how much the Register registers
Right now, Hillary is running third behind John Edwards and Obama. I thin most folks minds are made up. There's not much on the fence at this date. I never see much late movement two weeks before the caucuses historically.

9. Someone needs to tell the DMR that the word is spelled "surprised" not "suprised"

The Obama campaign is as classy and witty as ever, much like the man himself. He's eight points ahead in Iowa according to the latest poll so
we shall see how things shape up going into the home stretch.
