If I was Karl Rove
I'd say that Hillary's team is deliberately throwing Iowa to John Edwards in an effort to stall Obama.

In the hopes that she can regain her footing much more easily in New Hampshire and South Carolina, if Obama's momentum is blunted by losing Iowa.

But then, I'm not Karl Rove.
