Question for Obama Supporters...

You guys are joking when you type posts like this one...right?

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

I mean you can't seriously think Hillary's laugh means anything in relation to her positions and beliefs do you?

1. her laugh is one of calculation
Just watch the daily show clip where she cackled every time a hard question was thrown at her.

5. I don't think her laughter is relevant. I think it is a nonissue that has been blown out of
proportion. I don't personally approve of where Hillary has taken her campaign and don't support her, but no, I don't think the laugh should be an issue. It is unfair.

6. oooh now I see...
Obama supporters must be a monolithic group. We all think alike, wear the same clothes, live in the same neighborhoods, drive the same cars...we are clones...ah...now I see.
*smirks*

Please think before you type.

9. Was that reponse meant for me? I wasn't speaking for anyone but myself
and was only answering the OP with my personal opinion.

7. her laughter is only important insofar as it is an example of her whole 'friendly' facade
Edited on Fri Dec-14-07 07:22 PM by JackORoses
It's one thing to naturally laugh when something is funny,
it's another to laugh on cue for calculated political advantage.

8. I think the way she behaved during that segment of the debate
Edited on Fri Dec-14-07 07:37 PM by calteacherguy
reveals something about her that is very unflattering.

More importantly than that, it's not the kind of personality and attitude that will serve America well, especially not in the White House.

I like them quite a bit.

I don't nearly like Edwards rapid blinking as well. Now, that's a real disaster! :)

20. The only reason I find her laugh so grating is that it's so contrived...
That being said, I wouldn't launch a thread dedicated to a discussion of how I find it grating.

21. and Gore was so stiff and wooden, and he wore earthtones,,,,,proves he should not have won in 2000
Thank whatever powers that be (probably media, rove, Nader supporters, and 5 Supreme Couty Justices ) that we didn't have to see or hear him for the past 7 years!

Yes I am being sarcastic......but the attacks on candidates' mannerisms and appearance instead of issues is evidence to me that a lot of voters are not ready for democracy ---

22. Hillary's cackle laugh yesterday was calculating, she wouldn't even allow Obama to answer the
question before she loudly says; 'I want to hear this' remark which she abruptly stopped laughing at Obama when he made his reply to her. (Hillary, I'll be looking for you to advise me too)

24. Elmer, look at that thread. 23 responses & most thought the thread was distasteful.

And that was Obama supporters, Biden supporters, Hillary supporters, etc.

I can see why you didn't care for the thread --- but given the responses from supporters of so many different candidates, why not confront the OP who started the damn thing?

I have to hand it to Emily in that thread. She actually jumped on the OP, not on any particular candidate's supporters.

26. Question for Hillary Supporters...
Edited on Sat Dec-15-07 08:02 AM by zulchzulu
Why do you think Hillary Clinton stopped her injective laugh (some might call it a cackle) after that Sunday where she used the same "over-laugh" in five news shows with some that were actually inappropriate for the question?

Watch:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poUEHzPOiMk

Hillary Clinton stopped her Overlaugh because:
1. It was embarrassing to watch someone do a fake laugh to a question
2. Polls, market testing and focus groups show it to look fake
3. The advice she got from Carville to overlaugh as a preemptive move to a tough question backfired

She didn't do her Overlaugh very much until the recent debate:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhPxSm9Es0w

It backfired again.

So do Hillary supporters see her laugh as a calculated attempt to make her seem more "human"?

May I also add that it's not just Obama supporters who find her Overlaugh a bit calculated. You'll find supporters of other candidates that feel the same way.
