A true Bidenite gives praise and admiration to Barack Obama
Edited on Fri Dec-14-07 07:38 AM by monmouth
Let me be clear at the start, I would crawl through hot coals on hands and knees to vote for Joe Biden. Nothing will deter me from that mission if it should appear. However, my deepest gratitude and admiration must be given to Barack Obama. Even if that horrible question to Joe had not been answered perfectly by Biden himself, Barack Obama gave an un-scripted, true from the heart response and I greatly admire him for it. Obama is not only a gentleman, but his true spirit and kindness came through brilliantly with his support of Joe Biden. This is the kind of politicing that should serve as an example to all (both Dem and Rep). I am so sick of the nastiness and back-biting going on with some of the top-tier candidates, they look and sound like children and it does them no favors.

I've seen numerous pictures of Biden and Obama together during work sessions, etc. and really think they would make such a powerful team. My hat is off to you Senator Obama, a gentleman you truly are.

1. I wish I could vote for Obama, Biden and Edwards.
Biden is not my first choice at all, but I'm really starting to like the guy.

2. His experiences both in government and life are not to be ignored.
His helpfulness to the "newbies" when they come in has served him well, one of them being Barack Obama, who does not have a short memory. Prior to Joe's entering the race, I had contacted Obama's camp. When I first heard him speak at the Dem Convention I knew Obama had a gift. Can you imagine his power in another ten years? Joe has helped him greatly and Obama has not forgotten. I love them both. Edwards should sell used cars....

5. Since '04, I've taken BO at his word,

that's why I believe that instead of him offering up some condescending political bullshit to score points, he gave his "testimony" on Joe's behalf solely for the right reason.....He meant it! :applause: GO JOE! GObama!

12. Yeah ...
It was a good move, either way ... I believe it to have been a GENUINE expression of support for Biden, but as such, it also is good for Barrack ...

Just the way it works ...

Honestly, that was a great, gentlemanly debate overall ... Very nice representation of the party by pretty much everyone ...

I think Hill would be a great president, but she has just been through SO much, and for so long has been demarginalized as a human being ... It really is sad what has been done to her, and if she were to get the nomination, this country would be in for a a living H E E L L from the right, up to the election and every day she were to be in office ...

I will support her if it comes to that, but I want someone else, just for the sake of come level of decency for the country ...

3. I agree.
I think there is a genuine side of Obama that at times, is not easily seen through all the politicking. I think some of it is his inexperience, but the media has a lot of blame, too. They want to see bickering & infighting among the candidates, but especially the dem candidates, & especially among the top tier.

Have I said how much I hate our media? They are such a destructive force in this country, creating divisiveness & discord among our population. And it's working. Divide & conquer. Americans are so divided & believe it's a red vs blue fight when really it's a corporations vs people fight.

9. Agreed, Obama has been my second choice for some time
They complement each other very well. I like how neither of them have mandate that forces you to buy insurance. let's make history on the VP slot. let's bring in the young new guy on the VP slot.

Biden-Obama 2008! WOOT!

10. Thank you so much for the kind words
I was kind of teary eyed when Joe was speaking and then smiling as his colleagues applauded him. When Obama made his simple and decent, yet eloquent defense of Biden's most honorable record on equal rights and Joe's plain old good heart, it was the cherry on top that reminded me why I am a Democrat.

13. Amen! C-span has played that clip several times, and with each time I am more and more
impressed with Obama. He didn't need to do that. And whether or not he did it for political gain - it seemed to come from his heart. And if that was his goal - he accomplished it well :)

He is a true leader and as I posted yesterday - he moved up mountains in my eyes.

I will fight for Biden till the end, but if it came down to it - I would be proud to vote for Obama.

Sadly, Kucinich just doesn't seem viable anymore.
