As a non-believer, I consider that The Bible is a work of fiction and should be treated as such.

Once you start saying that some parts of The Bible are true - who decides where to draw the line?

But the fact is that Obama calls himself a Christian - together with around 80% of American voters.

I accept that I have to tolerate that some Christians hold beliefs that I consider irrational.

If we are being completely honest - I think they ALL hold beliefs that I consider irrational.

But if I believe in freedom of religion then I need to show a certain amount of tolerance.

And fortunately I am not running for public office, so I am free to offend the faithful.

Obama is trying to win the nomination by reaching out to as many groups as he can.

But Obama has never said that being gay is sinful, nor that gays can be "cured".

What bothers me is that even after he knew that McClurkin was extremely offensive to the LGBT community, he still permitted him to MC & speak at his gospel tour. I know he's got a decent record on gay rights, but that stubborn dismissal of the gay community's protests, was reprehensible IMO.
