How "tacky" is this? Obama solicits $25 from supporters for negativity costs.
"While Obama's campaign has readily responded to Clinton's shots as "disingenuous attack politics," it also has sought to profit from them. Supporters on Monday were asked to donate $25 to the Obama campaign through a Web site address that features the words "cost of negativity." Obama's campaign also asked supporters to use the Internet to alert them to other attacks."

7. It's tacky.. to charges supporters for problems he created himself!
Obama never wants to take responsibility for his actions..

Blame the staff, operatives, now the supporters have to pay $25.00.

Better watch your femoral artery. He might be after that next.

10. What's Hillary's fund raising philosophy? Oh, yes: she's pro-corporate lobbying.
Edited on Tue Dec-04-07 10:58 PM by Buzz Clik
Because big corporations are made up of individuals or some such bullshit.

It's a slippery slope to bitch about fund raising when your candidate is leading the field in $$$. A wise Hillary fan would simply let it go.

Bottom line: They are all political whores.

8. It's fairly typical fundraising.
Of course if you're like Senator Clinton and getting boatloads of corporate and defense contractor cash then I guess it might seem like a quaint tactic.

31. It is a lot worse than tacky.
Everyone's afraid to criticize him. He's a big hypocrite, running a very much attack-oriented campaign and then telling his supporters to pick up the tab because things have, er, gotten negative.

The reason people prefer Sen. Clinton is because she's been in the Senate longer and has a better record.

That was the Edwards response to Ann Coulter not long ago.
Obama isn't the only one who has been crying.

40. How are Hillary's valid criticisms supposed to compare to Coulter's mindless epithets?
Edited on Wed Dec-05-07 10:42 AM by VarnettaTuckpocket
Edwards did use it to fund-raise, but otherwise the situations are not analogous. Coulter's comment was highly offensive hate speech, that denigrated not only Edwards but the entire gay community as well.

39. Check in here..
Obama has a problem getting his facts straight. When called on it, he runs to Axelrod to run a "negativity charges" online solicitation demanding $25 from his supporters to help him shroud his lies and misconceptions..

43. Nope. Not tacky at all. Merely another vehicle to raise money
Nope. Not tacky at all. Merely another vehicle to raise money-- something every politician is forced to do in many varying ways. I imagine all of the candidate's finance managers are kicking themselves for not seeing it first.

Gaining additional contributions through the attacks of another candidate? Sounds smart to me-- but then again, as I've neither chosen on nor ruled out a candidate yet, I can still maintain some objectivity which appears to be lost to many of those already locked in on a candidate.
