Hillary: I Have Better "Courage And Convictions" Than Obama
In a sign that the race is going to get exciting (and perhaps brutal) in the home stretch, Hillary Clinton is officially firing back at Barack Obama, in the wake of multiple polls showing him slightly ahead in Iowa and catching up in New Hampshire. "There's a big difference between our courage and our convictions, what we believe and what we're willing to fight for," the Washington Post quotes Hillary, saying that there is a difference "between someone who talks the talk, and somebody who's walked the walk."

"I have said for months that I would much rather be attacking Republicans, and attacking the problems of our country, because ultimately that's what I want to do as president," she added. "But I have been, for months, on the receiving end of rather consistent attacks. Well, now the fun part starts. We're into the last month, and we're going to start drawing the contrasts."

Hillary is fighting back here by throwing mud. Throwing mud dirties the thrower more than the victim.

Kerry fought back by providing convincing convincing information that the charges were wrong. He ended up still in the race and nearly won a race with everything stacked against him.

In the primaries the attack was the false intern charge. His response, which respected the woman in the accusation, led the people to discredit the lie. In the GE, by November, people who were likely to vote for Kerry knew the facts were on his side. He far exceeded the BC goal of getting "something" out in the newscycle. The media had his complete record, a historian's book, Kerry's men's statements and Nixon's conclusion that he was a war hero - BEFORE the August attacks came out.

I suspect that before this election is over, people will long for the days when the candidate they had to defend was the principled, honest Kerry or Gore.

6. Hillary
Let's remember the only policy she was officially responable for Health Care reform not only failed
but cost us the Congress In 1994(and we did get NAFTA which Is killing the working people) and the
only time she ever really fought the right wing was to keep her husband In Office. And she was
hardly a big opporent of Bush before she ran for President.SOmetimes people need to see though the
BS and remember the true History.

8. Amen - It's Amazing How Unthinking People Can Be
Clinton has only once "gone to the matt" for legislation - HillaryCare - and it was a catastrophe. In her 7 years in the Senate she has never once really fought for a bill. However, at the same time, she voted for awful stuff - the Iraq War, the first attrmpt at the bankruptcy bill, Kyle-Lieberman, and all kinds of other stuff - and she has said that she's OK with some torture, although she later recanted. Before her tenure, she was a supporter of NAFTA and, even worse, job-obliterating permanent "free" trade status for China.

15. Excuse me?
Where were those "courage and convictions" when you voted for IWR?

Where were those "courage and convictions" when your husband put you in charge of health care?

It's very, very sad to see someone lower herself this way.

as closeasthis in their support for Bush on his terrorism and Iraq war decisions - till Joe lost his primary race.

I liked her better when she was doing the laughing thing.

But I agree with her that "now the fun part starts".

24. Where was your attack on BushInc from 2001-2006, Hillary? No back up from TeamClinton
on Tora Bora (position of Dem nominee).

Bush's decision to invade when weapon inspections were proving force was not needed (position of Dem nominee).

Call for Rumsfeld to go in 2003-4 (position of Dem nominee).

Letter of Inquiry on Downing Street Memos (10 senators did sign).

You attacked Iraq withdrawal timetables, Hillary, in June 2006, and then switched your rhetoric slightly left AFTER Joe Lieberman lost HIS primary race.

I call BULLSGHIT on your courage AND convictions, Hillary.
