I thought Bill had Prayer Sessions with Billy Graham about his "Problem with Monica"
Edited on Wed Nov-28-07 06:26 PM by KoKo01
Whatever happened with that? We know that Hillary since she's been a Senator has convened with the "Prayer Group" of "The Fellowship." (I know as a DU Female} ...I would have looked to All Resources to deal with what Bill did with Monica with Cigars ...in the "Oval Office Ancillary." :-(

We thought (and were told) that Bill and Hillary had worked through all their problems...but it seems that Bill hasn't learned and his EGO is now working AGAINST...his WIFE (a faithful wife from all we know) who is now running for the Highest Office in America! A position that many of us feel belonged to Al Gore...but the one who was "Installed" fouled and trashed and spewed urine on our American Constitution when the Supreme Court allowed him to "squat" in the White House...the "Peoples House!"

Here's what bothers me about HILLARY...and I can't say I blame her for turning to religion when her hubby was using cigar's to "give pleasure" to his paramour in the White House....after KNOWING he almost lost the Presidency because of "allegations" that he had had "affairs of one kind or another" with other women before he EVEN won the White House...against all odds......

How Hillary Clinton turned herself into the consummate Washington player

Take Two

Of the many realms of power on Capitol Hill, the least understood may be the lawmakers prayer group. The tradition of private worship in small, informal gatherings is one that stretches back for generations, as does a genuine tendency within them to transcend partisanship, though as with so much that is religiously oriented in Washington, the chief adherents are the more conservative Republicans.

Most of the prayer groups are informally affiliated with a secretive Christian organization called the Fellowship, established in the 1930s by a Methodist evangelist named Abraham Vereide, whose great hope was to preach the word of Jesus to political and business leaders throughout the world. Vereide believed that the best way to change the powerful was through discreet personal ministry, and over his lifetime he succeeded to a remarkable degree. The first Senate prayer group met over breakfast in 1943; a decade later one of its members, Senator Frank Carlson, persuaded Dwight Eisenhower to host a Presidential Prayer Breakfast, which has become a tradition.
"Everything I do carries political risk because nobody gets the scrutiny that I get," Hillary Clinton told me, finally.

"It's not like I have any margin for error whatsoever. I don't. Everybody else does, and I don't. And that's fine. That's just who I am, and that's what I live with."

Though it still sponsors what is now called the National Prayer Breakfast, the Fellowship scrupulously avoids publicity, as Vereide insisted it must. If you want to help people, Jesus said, you dont do your alms in public, Douglas Coe, the groups leader since the late 1960s, said in a rare interview several years ago.

Today, on Capitol Hill, as the old avenues of bipartisanship have gradually been blocked off by hardening ideology, the prayer groups have become cherished sanctuaries for their membersproviding respite, however brief, from the cacophony of political Washington. Speaking about a group is strongly discouraged, and what transpires at meetings is strictly off the record. As a result, the groups provide an intimate setting in which members can share their faith without fear of being judged. Once you take off the cloak of politics and look into a persons soul, you find that you can establish a relationship that is enduring and deep and doesnt let politics get in the way, one longtime participant explained to me. If youre going to be consistent with the teachings of Jesus, its about forgiveness, reconciliation, and peace. Many who come, he said, are surprised to wind up forming close friendships with colleagues who in any other setting would be considered political enemies.

Youre not supposed to think about lofty spiritual affairs in terms so temporal as their political importance. But among the prayer groups, one holds special status: a tight-knit gathering of about a dozen senators which still meets every Wednesday morning for prayer and discussion, led by Douglas Coe himself. Each week, someone starts the meeting by giving personal testimony, secure in the support of the audience. Once, Senator Dan Coats stood before the group and sang Jesus Loves Me, This I Know.

The roster of regular participants has included such notable conservative names as Brownback, Santorum, Nickles, Enzi, and Inhofe. Then, in 2001, just after the new class of senators was sworn in, another name was added to the list: Hillary Rodham Clinton.

One spring Wednesday, a few months into the term, Senator Sam Brownbacks turn came to lead the group, and he rose intending to talk about a recent cancer scare. But as he stood before his colleagues Brownback spotted Clinton, and was overcome with the impulse to change the subject of his testimony. I came here today prepared to share about this experience in my life that has caused great suffering, the result of which has deepened my faith, Brownback said, according to someone who watched the scene unfold. But Im overcome now with only one thought. He confessed to having hated Clinton and having said derogatory things about her. Through God, he now recognized his sin. Then he turned to her and asked, Mrs. Clinton, will you forgive me? Clinton replied that she would, and that she appreciated the apology.

1. I remember that
Bill Clinton met with a few people, including Jesse Jackson. As it turned out, Jesse had experienced some similar issues. I am not in favor of people cheating on their spouse/SO; however, I do not know what arrangement either man has with his wife, and do not think that either wife has asked for public imput.

I'm more inclined to judge Jesse Jackson and both Clintons as public figures. As Senator Clinton is running for president, I think it is important that people consider what her public activities have been in the past 20 years. It seems that from her public life -- including things such as being First Lady and NYS Senator -- there is plenty to discuss in terms of the primary, and to debate if she would be our best candidate in the general election. I do not think that those questions have been answered yet.

2. I still think that her Relationship with her Husband who wants to Redeem his Presidency after
the Trashing of it by the Bush Crime Family does come into play when assessing Hillary's Candidacy.

Is Hillary a woman so tied to her Husband's fortunes that she would put up with the most shaming infidelities to redeem him in the Presidential History...that she would give up her incredible Senate Seat (where she has much power at "Senator from NY") to redeem the LEGACY of her HUBBIES WORK?

When has Hillary "cut off" from her association with Bill? Would she EVER DO IT? If so...does that not mean that she is a "VICTIM" of Bill's Sexual Infidelities like many women seeking shelter in the "Battered Womens Homes" across America?

If the "Rumors" (and they are still rumours) are true that Bill has been "on the road again" even have a "whiff of truth" what does that mean for Hillary?

There are alot of Women Across America who would not think kindly of Hillary and Bill...since they live in some kind of "co-dependency" stuff along with lots of men who've lived through that from both sides who aren't going to look at CLINTON II Presidency as some kind of TV "Reality Show Makeover!"

How can these two rationalize the incredible estrangements of their relationship to a "conflicted America?"

THESE ARE THE ISSUES... Does it MATTER OR NOT....

17. The differences between Jack Kennedy and Bill Clinton are vast, for one
Edited on Wed Nov-28-07 06:58 PM by Uncle Joe
to my knowledge, Kennedy never looked the American People in the camera lens and lied to them about his behavior, thus turning a family betrayal in to a national one and thereby handing the integrity issue on a silver platter to Nixon. Other Presidents, some of them great, had affairs, but none did so much to enable the other party to power in what I believe to be a cynical Machiavellian bid to come back in to power via their spouse.

I don't believe Clinton's behavior leading up to and after the Convention that was to nominate Al Gore for President coupled with Dick Cheney's announcement that he would never run for President were coincidental. I believe the Clintons purposely did what they could to sabotage Al Gore's chances.

Edited on Wed Nov-28-07 07:04 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
Maybe Clinton wouldn't have helped...

As for JFK we didn't learn about his sexual conquests till after he died because the press covered it up... That being said, JFK was martyred so I hope he enjoyed himself in his forty six short years on this Earth , most of which were spent in pain...

http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2007/11/cli...

"Before Hillary officially established her exploratory committee, she began directly competing with the vice president for money, sometimes even at his own fund-raising events. When Tipper's friend Melinda Blinken and a group of women planned a Gore fund-raiser in Los Angeles, Hillary insisted on being invitedover the objections of the event's organizers. Hillary then shocked the vice president's supporters by soliciting donations for herself in front of Tipper."

Why would Hillary Clinton do this to the Gores in California, when she was only running in New York and Al Gore was running a national campaign? I believe it's because this was a set up from the beginning and if there was a "vast right wing conspiracy" as Hillary Clinton stated, it was actually aimed at Al Gore as a back door strategy to keep him from coming to power. The only question I have is when did the Clintons join the conspiracy, was it after Dick Cheney announced he wouldn't run for President after he chose him self as Bush's Vice-Presidential running mate or before?

Personally, I believe Bill Clinton screwed his loyal Vice-President over three times before Al Gore ever reached the podium at the 2000 convention that was to nominate him for the Presidency.

The first time was the adolescent throw back affair it self, this is when Bill Clinton forgot the theme song from his own 92 convention, Fleetwood Mac's "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow", I still have ambivalent feelings whenever I hear that song. This also told me Bill Clinton didn't truly believe the looming catastrophe of Global Warming was for real, or he wouldn't have jeopardized his Vice-President's upcoming election. I believe as bad as this was, it wasn't insurmountable because it was primarily a betrayal against his own family and many would consider this private behavior.

The second and much more devastating betrayal against Al Gore was when Bill Clinton looked the American People in the camera lens and told them quite adamantly that he never had sexual relations with that woman. The only question I have regarding this incident is, did Hillary know Bill was guilty and encourage him to go on national television and lie to the American People regardless? This turned a family betrayal in to a national one, he lied to everyone at this point, he and certainly Al Gore would've been much better off had he kept his mouth shut or at least admitted the truth up front, because this act gave Bush the integrity issue ammunition on a silver platter. Bush's cronies knew it as well, that's why he ran on "restoring honor and integrity to the White House" and that's why the corporate media slandered and libeled Al Gore relentlessly within weeks after Clinton's impeachment, morphing Clinton's lie of "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" in to a smear job of "Al Gore claimed to the invented the Internet" being just one example of many" lies the media used in transferring the sins of the President on to the Vice-President.

The third time was at the 2000 convention it self, read the bold-ed paragraph below and couple that with what seemed like a ten minute self aggrandizing walk down the hall way, when he could've used that precious national prime time air time to promote Al Gore for President. There was nothing delicate about he walk down the hall way at the convention, this was the last thing Al Gore needed in the moderate to conservative states. It was always about Bill until Hillary supposedly had him by the short hairs and then it was always about Hillary, this is a large reason as to why we have Cheney/Bush in the White House today, why we're in Iraq, why we torture and why the Constitution has been turned in to toilet paper, why the dollar is melting, etc. etc.

"During his all-night conversation with Ken Burns in June, Bill "spoke movingly of the Democratic National Convention that was coming," Burns recalled, "and how because he was on the backside of scandal and impeachment he had a more delicate role to play."

I can't help but be amazed by people who claim Al Gore made a mistake by not using Bill Clinton more. Should your "friend' and boss stab you in the back once, one could make an excuse for them and say, hey he just tripped with that Bowie Knife in his hand and it was an accident. If the same "friend"; whom you stood up for when he needed you the most, then stabbed you in the back twice, you might still forgive him and say, he just tripped with the Bowie Knife in his right hand and the K-Bar in his left hand, that too was an accident. Now if the same "friend" stabs you in the back three times, you might begin to question their loyalty and say he just tripped with the Bowie Knife in his right hand, the K-Bar in his left, but where in the hell did that rusty butter knife come from!? I believe between that and those people screaming from the side lines for you to give your "friend" another chance, would be enough to make anybody want to go to Spain for a while and grow a beard.

Final conclusion, does anyone see any irony in the corporate media's 180 on the Clintons; people they waged a witch hunt against from the beginning to the end of his eight years in office. Today the same corporate media believe the same man should be our nation's very first First Gentleman, only they're having difficulty using that term, it's more like First Spouse or First Husband, even though First Gentleman would be a more applicable counter title to First Lady.

I believe their primary target was Al Gore from the beginning precisely because he empowered the people when he became the primary political champion of the Internet while he was in Congress and later as Vice-President, thus threatening their monopoly on information, information = money, power and influence and as the Internet grew in power and influence they came to resent Al Gore for it. I call this the Prometheus Effect and if Al Gore is analogous to Prometheus, Hillary Clinton is the corporate media's Pandora for the people.

49. When a President is Impeached over it...it does become an issue...though
Edited on Wed Nov-28-07 08:27 PM by KoKo01
and we had Eight Years of Bill's Problems thrown in our face...and given the depravity of Cables that average American is exposed to...you think this won't be an issue for Democrats...given that Rudi, Freddie, McCain and the rest of the Repugs don't have that issue...that the public doesn't get the same exposure to?

We need to deal with it...but not ignore that we might nominate a person that has "red flags flying" that will just be more of what we've lived through.

Without a Media Balance we will never get fair representation..so if something is going on with Bill/Hill...it will come down on us in these times harder than whatever the Repugs might do...even if they were caught with young boys in their beds, raping a woman on a downtown street in Georgetown in front of an embassy...caught red handed killing an opponent or raping American Taxpayers of Billions for a War they lied us into. The Criminal Family will not be held accountable when they can still go at Dems for SEX that the MSM can build up into Bestiality if they have to and get folks to believe it! Cheney's joy of killing doves who are "penned, innocent raise birds" comes under the rape of the imprisoned hunted, imho...but they spin it differently.

How do we deal with this?

as silly, juvenile and irrelevant.

Good god, do you manage to get any sleep while worrying about every penis and vagina in America?

50. What is it about folks obsession with the private life of WJC and
HRC?

Most of these articles remind be of those articles written by the same silly sombitch from Americian Spectator that wrote all the lies about Clinton in 92, 93.

HERE IS MY POINT!!!! Anyone with common sense would know the right wing will come after her with something sexual about Bill.I do not have first hand knowledge but I suspect that WJC and HRC know this is coming and have protected themselves against this with accurate accounts of where, who WJC has meant with and at the proper time will present said evidence and smear the right wing zealots......

Listen folks each time we hear a talk radio Nazi, or any Fox reporter say "The republicans want Senator Clinton to run," means they're afraid of her. Talk radio and Fox whores are saying great things about Obama, which should make you wonder. Why would facsist bastards say nice things about Obama?

I have nothing bad to say about Obama, but seriously, between Obama with little experience and the only team to win back-to-back presidential campaigns since FDR, (the team that beat war hero Bush and war hero Dole), ...who do you think the super-racist GOP wants to run against?

Ben David

52. No more Christian Dominionists for President, thanks.
Americans need to turn the page. Let's look forward, not back.

55. I couldn't agree with you more.
Good thing none of the dem candidates is a Christian Dominionist. Even if some go to prayer groups, and others court
Robertson and his base on the 700 club, that hardly makes them Dominionists.
