The art of answering the essay question.

You remember essay questions, don't you? You had to answer a complicated question and provide facts to support your answer. (Example - was the American Civil War about slavery?)Sometimes the answer was arguable, and you had to make sure that your answer for or against, affirmative or negative, matched the teacher's opinion or you would lose all credit. If you were really good, you could marshall arguments for both sides without ever stating which side was right. I've read a couple of Senator Clinton's statements the last few days and she must have been a real whiz on essay questions.
