3. There's no real plan

I agree that its not a good idea to force people to buy health insurance when there is no way to control the cost.

But you don't walk away from the issue at that point. You have to come up with a proposal to deal with that problem. Not rocket science.

4. How can we have UNIVERSAL health care without mandates?

How can we ensure that everyone has coverage if there are no mandates? Even single payer is a mandate as everyone has to pay taxes on their income to support single payer
