I guess we can leave now.
The white house has officially given up on any political progress in Iraq and since that is what the surge was all about I assume we will be packing up and heading home now. The WH goal is unattainable, they admitted so it only stands to reason.
Bush's own words were that the surge was to give Iraq room. Well it didn't work.
What is the next reason for staying?

1. The next reason for staying...
will be to protect both the Taj Mahal Embassy and our 14 military bases...oh yeah...and the oil fields and equipment.

Geez, thats why we went there in the first place.

2. The fact that violence is way down in Basra
now that the Brits are out, should answer a lot of excuses for staying.

5. Yeah
and the dems are going to let him. He is trying to save his "legacy". His legacy is pretty much set in stone: The worst president with the most corrupt administration in history.

His arrogance is exceeded only by his ignorance.
