Hard to believe a Democrat would use Gerth's work against a fellow Democrat.

Obama on the Clinton 'secret pact of ambition'
by Glenn Thrush

LAS VEGAS -- Barack Obama is starting to slip into his speeches a disputed account of a secret 20-year plan for both Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton to win the White House.

Im not in this race to fulfill some long-held plan or because it was owed to me, Obama told a gathering of Nevada Democrats after Thursday nights Las Vegas debate.

That was a veiled reference to an account by biographers Jeff Gerth and Don Van Natta that the Clintons sealed a secret pact of ambition to both win the presidency, which has been vehemently denied by Clinton advisers.

Asked if Obama was referring to the pact, a spokeswoman replied: Barack Obama has not been mapping out his run for president from Washington for the last 20 years like some of his opponents.

3. Don't mind him...
He's just upset because he got his ass handed to him on a silver platter last debate.

6. It seems obvious
I think he is just stating the obvious. Hill's run is no surprise and was discussed when she moved to New York to run for Senate. Both Clinton's have great ambition fueled at an early age, and both have served in the White House long enough-- time for change for so many reasons. Look to proven leader and read Biden's editorial on the war one realizes how much time we waste discussing those with the most money vs those who can actually do.

A Democrat who will side with secrecy and privilege over the citizens' right to honest, accountable, open government IS the type of president you want?

11. Hmmm... YES, he does.
:hi:

Don't get me wrong. I'm pulling for him, too. (I like ALL the Democratic candidates!)

I just think he keeps screwing up. My fondest wish would be a Clinton/Obama ticket to be completely honest but I think he's messed up any chance of that. :(

that they are too different in too many ways for that combination to have much of a chance.

5. It's clear Obama's ambition won't allow him to wait 20 years or even 20 months.
