Edwards to join striking writers
Edwards to join striking writers
From wire service reports

----
Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards plans to join striking writers picketing outside NBC this afternoon, while several state legislators and City Council members are expected to join the picket line outside CBS on the 12th day of the labor dispute.

Edwards, a former North Carolina senator, issued a statement in support of the writers when the strike began Nov. 5, as did two of his opponents for the nomination, New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Illinois Sen. Barack Obama. A third Democratic presidential candidate, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, issued a statement the day after the strike began.

"The striking Writers Guild members are fighting an important battle to protect their creative rights,'' Edwards said in his statement. "These writers deserve to be compensated fairly for their work and I commend their courage in standing up to big media conglomerates."

Edwards is coming to Southern California to join Clinton and Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, in participating in a forum on global warming and energy issues Saturday in Brentwood.

1. Good
I hope this gets him deserved attention.
He needed to take the opening from the last debate and lay out a new vision for the country, instead he got goaded into Blitzer's stupid cat fight between Clinton and Obama

2. Once again, Edwards, the only major candidate to take a stand for the people!

He has been consistent in his support for labor and consistent in his support for "real' citizens". and not lobbyists and the moneyed elite! I support Edwards because he supports the people and issues that matter.
