Why did Giuliany dress in drag?
I truly don't know. Wikipedia is of no help. Was it a charity stunt? SNL? What?

4. Ostensibly stunts and fundraisers, but he has never passed up a chance to appear in drag
I think he really is a transvestite. (Not that there's anything wrong with that)

One can always say, "it's a costume party," or, "it's halloween."

But the odd thing is that he never missed any opportunity to appear in public in drag, versus being a mummy or a vampire or whatever.

5. Which time?
Rudy dressed in drag on many occasions at NYC functions. A lot of us in the NYC transgender community often used to chat about that.

The photos are nothing compared to the videos which reveal a man very at ease in his heels, and effecting a female voice.

18. Maybe it's because it was Guilianni, but I always felt he was making fun of women.
When I see a drag queen, I see someone making a tribute.

21. I see a classic closet transvestite.
That dresses up only at Halloween or special occasions in order to justify their fetish.

It's way more than just ridiculing women (though there is that element as well)

He shaves his legs, he has clear indication of developing a "femme persona" when dressed, and he overcompensates for his lispy effeminite mannerisms with macho swagger and a committment to the most violent and macho attitudes. As a transexual woman, I've met this type of man on many occasions and they are generally very self-loathing unstable individuals.

11. Because he's a Drag Queen!
Maybe he's really a gender challenged human(?) being.

When we speak of ghouliani we should refer to him as the Drag Queen.

Probably dresses in his wife's undies and makeup when she's not home.

Every time he's presented with an opportunity to dress as a woman...he goes for it.

14. I don't know why the dress in drag, however
I do know when he was in a race with Hillary for Senate , he left his wife and according to the media, he went to live with the wealthiest Gay Man in New York City, any one with information on his stay with a Gay man, this is not a joke or junk, it was a story told by the T.V. stations.

19. I would be very careful with implications that Rudy is gay or with
suggestions that we refer to him as the Drag Queen. I couldn't care less about his sexuality. (I happen to believe that he adopts drag in order to express his disdain and contempt for women rather than because he himself is a drag queen!)HOWEVER, I am very upset at any attacks based on Rudy's ambiguous sexuality because they can easily devolve into attacks on anyone who isn't a straight male.

22. I'm a transgendered woman
and I hear ya --BUT--there is a huge difference between an out and proud transsexual and the type of fetishistic "closet case" that I see Rudy as.

it's a similar difference as between a gay man and a "Larry Craig".

The transvestism isn't the problem. The furtive skulking denial is the problem.

Edited on Sun Nov-11-07 06:03 PM by rjones2818
whacked him with his noodly appendage and made him dress in drag!
He knew Rudy would someday run for President, and thought that it would add a little lightness to the proceedings.

Go FSM! :woohoo:
