Why the hell are you talking about a tip for fucks sake? We may bomb Iran any day! The market has gone to hell! People don't have health care!

What the hells the matter with us? Not enough reality TV?

1. If Bullshit is spread around enough, it tends to smell up the whole place.

2. It involves Hillary.
That's all it takes to stoke the fires of false outrage.

3. It's not about a tip
It's about the Clinton campaign's attempt to smear the waitress and the staff at the restaurant. Nobody cares about the tip.

6. Here's why it's not stupid
Posted in another thread by twiceshy

How to turn a minor incident into a debacle.......

This story only has legs because the Clinton camp is tone deaf and suffers a massive case of hubris:

1) When Clinton says "she is proud" of the waitress. Excuse me, what the hell did she have to do with the womans work ethic. It sounds condescending.

2) The debate over if the tip and/or bill was paid or the whole meal was "comped". I think they went back after the fact and tried to fix it. Why not just drop a $5 on the counter in the first place.

3) Insinuating that someone in the restaurant stole the tip possibly the manager or that the waitresses lied. This is positively Cheneyesque in its mendacity.

4) Going back and laying a twenty on the poor women later - again condescending.

If this is the way a Hillary presidency is going to operate - NO THANKS.

12. A Hillarite calling the story ridiculous. Pardon me while I die of not surprise.
twiceshy's summary is dead-on. The original tip story WAS ridiculous, and NPR gave it all the airtime it deserved. It is the Hillary campaign's reaction that is making news, and rightly so.

You don't get to use working folk as campaign props and then turn around and call them liars and thieves.

If so, the meaning should be perfectly clear.

18. joe my god...
I need to have my head examined for even getting into this..but here goes anyway...

You don't believe it's even remotely possible that the cash could have been left and accidentally thrown away? (it happens believe it or not..people get in a hurry bussing tables...) Or that one of the staff could be lying (the fact that the story made national news makes it unlikely that person would come forward or that (now here's a stretch) that it was simply a mistake...the staffer thought they left a tip and didn't? NOOOOO It MUST be the evil Hillary. Everyone knows she's been plotting against waitresses across the nation.:tinfoilhat:

Trust me, I am no supporter of Hillary Clinton, but as much as I dislike the woman, I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt on this. Seems to me, Hillary's staff did the right thing by going back and making sure the waitress got something, but now Clinton is catching hell for that too. They are acknowledging there was a mixup somewhere and tried to make it right.
Now, if you want to slam Clinton for her policy, I'm all for it. Let's talk Iraq, let's talk Iran...I couldn't disagree with her more on those issues.Let's talk campaign finance reform and immigration...but this is just petty crap.

20. Easy way to make this all go away
Produce the staffer who left the tip. Surely someone would remember throwing down $100 in a loose meat cafe.

Instead, they're trying to smear the waitress and the restaurant staff. Hillary's the one who's made this into a big deal, now she has to accept the consequences.
