Drop in Market due to inflation

Remember under Reagan when inflation started to run sort of high, then the dark day when the market fell, many people of that time thought that market fall, was to stop the fear of having high inflation under a republican administration. Inflation has been creeping in for about 4 years slowly but surely, many things are almost as high as gas. Is history going to repeat itself.
